The reason I picked this cooler is because I've always had great luck with EVGAs motherboards and graphics cards so I figured I would give their (new) line of products a try - their CPU Coolers and Power supplys. So far I've been very pleased, and I know if there is issues their customer support is top notch!

There isn't much of a change between 2500 RPM to 1900 RPM, so this works great and runs quiet with SpeedFan, and I haven't run into any trouble with it. As far as I'm aware, EVGA is a good company, as well.
One last thing is - like others have wrote, it is large. My RAM heat sinks were in the way a little, but the way this product's fan is installed on the heatsink, it is simple to raise it, so it is laying on the RAM's heat sink just a bit. Haven't had a trouble there at all.
The instructions are also ease to read and understand and really easy to install.
this is a cooler done right, hope to see evga create another air or water cpu cooler.
It is a BIG cooler which is a tight fit next to memory DIMMs with raised heat spreaders. The fan had to be raised to the maximum height above the motherboard to avoid bending the first DIMM and then it just barely fits inside the side cover of my tower case.
But it all does fit and is very quiet - unlike the 'fire siren' sound of the original, inadequate Intel cooler that came with the Core i7 CPU.
I wish my tower case side covers were transparent so the bright red illuminated fan could be seen when the case is closed...
Pros: At idle, my cpu stays within a degree of my motherboard temp now.
I thought the provided thermal grease was nice quality for pre-packaged item.
The instructions are fool-proof.
It is looks amazing.
It is a great item for the price.
Cons: The fan blocks my first sim, but that is just an issue because of my motherboard which is small and I have ram with heatsinks. Any low profile ram could still be used with this because it has plenty of vertical clearance.
Other Thoughts: I do a bunch of video editing that maxes out my CPU for extended periods and decided to upgrade from my stock cooler but was worried about CPU Clearance. This fits a mid ATX case just fine and my CPU at idle is now within a degree of my ambient temperature, around 30 C. Under full load, I have yet to break 43 C and it clears the extra heat within a minute.
I am almost positive this is a rebranding of the 3Rsystem Iceage 120 Boss II Dimpled-Fin Heatsink which has one of the highest scores on frostytech. The mountings, dimensions, fin technology are all the same. It looks like they just changed the way the fans mounted, updated it to a 4 pin fan, and simplified the aesthetic design. But they kept all the features that made it a great Heatsink. If you are thinking about getting an EVGA, read the review for that heat sink there-chances are it is what you are getting.
Must advise that the cooler came with the base dirty. Had to clean it very well before getting it any close to my rig. A slight dent, very very tiny, was present where the cooler connect to the processor. I didn't bother returning the object and, once mounted, seems not to defect the cooling ability as per described above.
Mounting was very simple and I like the mechanism as well.
Very, very happy with the performance, not so much with the conditions it arrived. Does the job so I can't complain any further.
Would have rated 5 stars if it wasn't for the reasons above.
