This review is on the EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P2 platinum rated power supply. Let me start by saying you truly don't need a psu over 800 BUT if you just want to reassure you don't have to get another power supply for a while I will definitely go with this one. The cables it comes with:
1 x 24pin ATX
2 x 8 (4+4)Pin EPS/ATX 12v cpu
2 x 8 (6+2)Pin PCI-E VGA
2 x 3 SATA (a cable with 3 SATA connections)
1 x 4 DATA (a cable with 4 DATA connections)
1 x 4 Molex
1 x Molex to FDD Adapter
Also comes with a neat EVGA bag to store extra cables, 24 pin power tester, and 5 Velcro cable ties. This psu runs high but silent and powerful. So hopefully I helped you on this product if you are interested or curious.

Efficency = Cooler Build, but DON'T enable Eco Mode

Bought this to replace a 12 year old, failing 650W power supply.

The symptoms that gave it away were:
- Random shutdowns when launching graphically (or computationally) intensive games
- Required shutting off power switch on back of power supply to reset it

PROS:
- 80+ Platinum
- Fully modular (Mobo, CPU, 2x VGA, 3x SATA, 1 Peripheral)
- All cables are labeled at the terminals
- All cables fully braided (black)
- Includes bag for storing unused parts
- Includes self-tester (closed motherboard jumper)
- 10 Year Warranty

CONS:
- ECO mode not designed for gaming (where you have sharp increases and decreases in power need repeatedly) -- see below!
- Included Mobo cable is a bit shorter than I would like to have seen

I had noticed a decent amount of heat coming from my computer for the last 2 years and I attributed that to the powerful graphics card installed around then. I now believe it was due to the ineffiency of my old power supply. As the poor thing aged, it just became horribly ineffective turning electricty into heat rather than power... because...

This new, 80+ Platinum supply simply runs my computer A LOT COOLER (and it's the only recently thing changed). In fact, my computer fans are blowing out cold air (instead of warm) which is cooling the whole room down.

It's a hard call, but I feel it's worth the $20 cost increase over the very comparable EVGA G3 Gold 650W (which is an outstanding power supply in it's own right -- If you can't afford this one, get the G3).

The only drawback is the Eco mode... in theory this should mean less overall power use and a quieter build. In reality, it works great until you need the extra juice. This power supply just can't make the switches fast enough all the time. So on Eco mode, you are going to get occasional shutdowns... This is a one-star deduction only because YOU DON'T NEED ECO MODE! This supply is so efficient and the fan profile so well done that it's still very quiet in regular mode. There is maybe a few decible difference. So just leave that OFF and you'll be fine.

The media could not be loaded.

Off the bat, my first impressions were quality! The presentation even starting with the box is very good. Once opened you are greated to wrapped PSU and a plethora of cables to give you options. Checkout the video to see the PSU test in good working order. The feel of the PSU is quality yet light. This 1000W housing is a little larger than the typical size PSU. 1000W these days is something to consider to futureproof yourself for upgrades to come. EVGA design and components seem to be top notch. Recommend!!!

My last power supply (brand omitted to protect the innocent) was causing random crashes that I couldn't track down, until I noticed my games crash when my A/C comes on. I facepalmed as I immediately knew the part I cheaped out on hoping to get away with it was my downfall.

Enter the SuperNOVA. 80+Platinum, that's a whole 5 grades of metal above my old Bronze, which means it's at least three eras of civilization more efficient. It's fully modular, which means that one wire for the floppy disks or whatever I didn't use before doesn't have to get tucked into the bottom of the case even though no one can see it anyway.

But in all seriousness, 10 year warranty. That's solid. Tells you they stand behind the part, which really does matter.

Now did it fix my problem? Yeah it did. Right after the replacement I was able to play through 2 hours of Fortnite without a crash, which I could not do before. Usually it would crash after like 15-20 minutes. I followed it up with a couple of hours of Subnautica the next day, then some Elite Dangerous. No crashes.

So yeah, don't cheap out on your PSU kids. It's an investment in your future sanity and also your wallet because you'll have to replace it anyway down the road, but only after going crazy trying to reinstall drivers and change every BIOS setting and undervolt and underclock RAM and think you're going insane.

Yeah get this one. This one's good.

Simply the highest quality psu I've owned thus far. Build quality 10. Efficiency 10. Included accessories 10. Aesthetics 10. Warranty 10... Years. This one of the best, if not The best 1k watt psu on the market. Buy this one.

I installed this in my Fractal Designs R5.
It is long. It extends over the center fan location in the R5. (I had to move some things and cover a hole I cut)

....this psu doesn't break a sweat with this setup. I use the eco function and I still haven't heard the fan kick on.

*update. I've been using this psu for four years now. I changed my build in late 2016 to an i7 Haswell w/32gb ddr3 ram on an Asus Z97 Deluxe, 4 noctua 140mm, 2 noctua 120mm, 2 powercolor R9 380's, 3 ssd, 3 hdd and a usb powered audio interface. My pc stays on for many days at a time because it is our media server, but does see downtime. The evga never gets hot and the fan only kicks on while gaming. It will literally run for years. I still think it's the best and I'm very happy with my purchase. 👍🏻

Great PSU, I've been using it to power a GTX 1070 and a Ryzen 7, and no power issues so far (had it for almost a year).

Based on other reviews, I've turned OFF the ECO mode from day one because they're stating that this specific PSU model overheats and fails when in ECO mode.
The fans are really quiet so it doesnt bother me at all.

My only wish is for the PSU to be more compact (its 165mm VS 140mm of some other brands). Make sure you got sufficient space, because it barely fits in my fractal design meshify c.

This thing is great but I couldn’t tell you if it was efficient as it says it is with power.

It’s very quiet, but my computer was a little bit louder than expecting with the fans running at auto.

The noise actually coming from the PSU is very low.

Bought it slightly cheaper with Amazon Warehouse Deals and it came perfectly packaged.

Easy to install but just like any other unit, adding cables afterwards sort of sucks.

I thought it was a little pricey, which is why I bought it used.
