Gwen Keebler’s abusive ex-fiance tracks her down and she is ready to leave everything behind and run from him again. Dale Bryant is a retired soldier, widowed, and hoping to repair his relationship with his daughter.
There were twists, turns, and suspense and I enjoyed reading this book very much. I feel that age doesn’t really matter all that much when the right people finally get together, so I was hoping they could resolve the problems and truly see each other. Will these two good people be able to make that connection? Or will Gwen choose to leave and start over somewhere else? I recommend this book, and the entire series! Great reading and really good story line.
Exposed is the 5th book in the Elkridge series and is a fast easy read. It can be a read as a standalone (but is better as a series). This is a very sweet romance that took me on a bit of an emotional ride. The story is well written and flows very well. I love the characters and love that I have already met them in the previous stories. I am always surprised while reading Lyz Kelley. She somehow always makes the characters and scenes she writes come alive in my mind. I can always see clearly in my head the scenes she paints. The characters always feel like real life people. The emotions I feel while reading the characters feel real. She is a fantastic writer. As always with this series, bring a tissue or two while you are reading and be prepared to fall in love.
This is the fifth book in the Elkridge Series and it does not disappoint. It was nice to see Gwen and Dale get their own story although I really hadn't paired them together. But they made a perfect couple with chemistry that was hot, but oh, so sweet. This novella had enough twists and turns that challenged the two to straighten them out to a wonderful and satisfying conclusion. Lyz Kelley is such a wonderful storyteller. I volunteered to review an Arc of this book, but as with all her other books, I have also purchased this one to be sure that I will always have all of them.
This well written story is by far my favorite book of this series. I loved these characters. Gwen and Dale are more mature, have lived full lives, yet they have not experienced a lot of happiness. In this story we get to be apart of these amazing characters finding fulfillment with each other. The storyline flows along so nicely, that even though they have hurdles to overcome you can't help keep turning the pages with a smile on your face, hope in your heart, that this couple will come out on top together!
I have fallen in love with this series and all the things they go through on a day to day bases. The books all make you feel like you are watching the story unfold. Gwen Keebler is hiding from her past and does not trust very easily , she meets her best friends dad and even with the fourteen years difference she has feelings for Retired Brigadier General Dale Bryant . Will she let people in this time and stay in one place? I would recommend this book.
A fun, fast read. The reader knows Gwen and Dale are meant for each other. Gwen's best friend and Dale's daughter know that they were meant for each other. Probably everybody in Elkridge is aware that they are meant for each other. But oh the twisting and turning of plot Gwen and Dale go through denying that they were meant for each other. Just when you think they were going to get it, something else happens. Lyz does a great job of creating a roller coaster of emotions that keeps you interested until you reach the end, which is not what you expect.
