Very easy to install, and works like a charm. Steps to install:
* Unscrew the black plate
* Choose the appropriate side for your ssd (indicated in instructions - one side for pcie, other for sata)
* Move the post to suit your particular ssd's form factor (2280 is the longest this will hold)
* Insert your ssd
* Secure it with a tiny screw
* Attach a thermal pad to the plate, on the appropriate side
* Remove plastic from pad
* Reattach plate
* Insert the card into your chosen pcie slot (choose the fastest available)
* Screw in the set screw (provided)
* Boot!
... the next bit assumes your new drive is empty ...
* Once you're in Windows (assuming Win10), open Disk Manager
* It will ask you to initialize the disk. Choose MBR if you're going to clone the drive (to boot from it), or GPT if you're going to use it as a storage drive
* If you chose GPT before, right-click on the "unallocated" bit, and choose "simple volume" and "next." Set the size (default is maximum), and choose "next." You can choose a drive letter, then click "next." Make sure "ntfs" is chosen next, click "next," and then "finish." You now have a new storage drive.
* If you chose MBR before, download Macrium Reflect Free, and just watch this awesome video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0PyZIqecII
Pros:
As I stated above, the install and setup are incredibly easy. The card is very small, so it doesn't take up much space in your case. Finally, the LEDs on the card are quite cool, and you can cycle between several different color settings by simply clicking the button on the external part of the card. If you have a suitable motherboard, you can connect your card to an RGB header and control the light show with your choice of software (like ASUS Aura). The card just popped into place, with no difficulties whatsoever.
Cons:
The included cable for connecting to the motherboard's RGB header is too short for most mobo's. You'll likely need some sort of extension.
All in all, excellent product.

Just an FYI. Most NVME/PCIE adapters run at the same speed so your best bet is to go with the one that cools the best, is within your budget, or looks the best.
As for this adapter, I was actually impressed with the added weight to the heat-sink. As for the thermal pad, it seems to be made of the same awful material that every other adapter comes with. I always use a different thermal pad then what comes with, no matter the heatsink.
The addressable leds work great. You can either choose your own style or go with whatever controller you are already using. It also has a fairly bright blue led for hard drive access notification.
All in all, I was presently surprised by the quality of the heatsink and leds and as for the adapter itself, it works fine.
I cant say for sure regarding the sata connection, but I also don't understand why someone would get an adapter for a slower connection. I guess to each their own. I would recommend this product if youre looking for some decent cooling and addressable lighting w/ a capable NVMe / PCIe adapter.

Update: For some reason, the SATA drive does not work with the heatsink on. I've tried loosening the screws, tightening them, readjusting the thermal pad, everything I could think of. It works fine without the heatsink attached, but even swapping the drive out for another it will not work. My computer goes into a boot loop whenever the SATA drive is connected and the heatsink is on. Still functions fine without it, though.
Changing the color settings with the button was a little confusing, but I figured it out easily enough and it looks great. Both drives showed up and are plenty fast. Stay cool, too

Everything is working well except the ARGB. When pushing the button, it cycles through the different modes as expected. When holding in the button for three seconds to switch to ARGB mode as indicated by the instructions, it just shuts off. The adapter is hooked up to a 3 pin 5v ARGB header that I have confirmed works with other ARGB components.
Would be an easy 5 star but no ARGB is a deal breaker for me.

I bought several M.2 adapter on amazon but all of those have different issues. This one costs few more bucks but works very well, easy to install. One thing I think it can improve is to change the position of the ssd indication light. It's currently on the bottom and basically not able to see it. overall it is a fancy and well made adapter, would recommend.

Amazed by all of the preloaded light profiles that come native to the adaptor. Couldn’t get it to boot from the NvME using this PCI-e card though.
