    I have this camera installed since April. It seems working okay after these months. Although its notification is not as fast as TP Link camera, it does send alert to cell phone app in two to three seconds delay, to let you know there is someone entered its detection range, when setting up human detection. It does not allow you to setup an area that only when person entered that area to be alerted, so that I have to point camera down, so that it would not send alerts for people walking on the street. updated in August 2024.

    The camera came with 7 days of free trial of cloud services. During that time, it sets priority to cloud first. Once that cloud service trial expired, I did not renew to their paid cloud service, NOTHING worked correctly any more. The notification did not send, the camera started to record everything, even I specified to human shape detection only. Pretty much is a piece of junk. Okay you can promote your cloud services, but not by making camera not working correctly. This situation last 14 days after first use. After 14 days, notification started working again, not reliably though, sometimes sent and sometimes not. Their support people are useless on improving their server reliability. I think that has something to do with forcing people paying for their cloud subscription. I would avoid this brand from now on.

    I really wanted to like it, since I already returned C8W (that one would lose configuration when power interrupted) and brought this one to replace it. However, I found this camera not queue any alert during its no wifi time. It does record to SD card for the video. I was expecting to look library locally to see if there is any notification, even it could not send during wifi jammed.

    Another complaint is the detection area setup only work for Image Change detection, not for anything else. I don't want to get alert for anyone walking on the street, only want to get alert when someone walked in front my door. Some other brands can do that, by recording any human and car detection, but only alert owner for someone walked into detection area setup by user.

    For once, an electronic device that was super easy to install -already had the app on my phone from a different EZ Viz camera. Just clicked add another camera, followed a few steps and within seconds the camera was communicating with Wi-Fi. Doesn’t come with an “in depth” instruction book, but you can get that off the settings on the app or online if you have any further questions about it. Really cool camera !!! The human tracking feature is amazing. Camera is crystal clear and working 60 feet from my router!!! I just realized there was one thing that bothered me. I wish the power cable was 10 feet instead of 5 feet but I found a generic 12v extension wire kit for $3 online😀

    Looking back I do not even know how to call it. It is far better than other cloud subscription cameras and those in the same price range. But being better does not make it acceptable. There is big problem - reliability. You can see below in the initial review. I went through trouble spending hours installing it, configuring it and getting used to it. I installed 11 cameras. Three years later about half are not working. About half routinely lose signal and require reset. After reset, they would work for a week and then go offline again. Knowing how hard it is to install and reset (see below), it is a major problem. I'm inclined to think now that this segment, non-cloud inexpensive cameras, should avoided. Cloud-based are absolute garbage. Non-cloud like this one are close to garbage. Maybe more expensive non-cloud ones are better?
    Total waste of money and waste of time.

    Now the really bad:
    -it changes interface about 3-4 times per year. So do not get used to doing routine things because next interface change will force you to adjust.
    -it endlessly nags about paid cloud service. I do not know why unknown chinese company needs to store my video that bad. There is no way to connect to reputable cloud like google, one drive or amazon; the only option is chenese company you can't pronouce let alone trust. But camera works well with SD card, though cloud nagging irritates a lot. There are many cameras on amazon that are just useless without their own unknown cloud services; this camera will let you get by with sd-card.
    -you'd get a lot of false-positives due to rain, snow, dust or insects. In fact there are so many false alarms that I had to turn off notifications. Otherwise you'd be bombarded every minute with new false alarm notes. Software should do better identifying them. Camera sensitivity setting do not help much.
    -blocking out areas in camera where motion should be ignored is bad. screen is divided in way too few blocks. There should be at least twice the provided number of areas.
    -there is no fixture like a cover/hood to block sun. Camera is a ~round ball

    the somewhat bad:
    -power cord is too short so you need to think about extending it somehow during installation. Out of my ~10 cameras, I did not extend power cord on maybe just 1
    -QR location on camera arm. Not only you'd have to go up the ladder to scan QR to reset, say, wifi, it can become illegible due to sun discoloration rendering camera unresettable and useless.
    -Camera can't change wifi in software. It needs physical reset on the camera.
    -Camera software is done by amateures. Plus text and descriptions were probably written with google translate. Integration of Ezviz profile and camera software is also pretty bad.
    -it would be nice to catch wifi disconnect and auto-force camera to restart via software and/or schedule.

    Not sure how it compares to name-brand cameras for 3-4 times the cost. To conclude, despite those complains, camera is not that bad comparing to competition in this segment of the market. If you budget is limited, consider it.
