Hazardous storage drums are used to safely store, transport, and dispose of hazardous materials. They are typically made of polyethylene or steel. Open-head drums have a removable lid and can store hazardous solids or liquids. Closed-head drums have a fixed top, can store hazardous liquids, and have bung holes for filling and pouring. Salvage drums, also known as overpack drums and recovery drums, can be used to store and transport smaller containers that hold hazardous materials and that are damaged or leaking. Certain drums may be incinerated along with the waste itself. Hazardous storage drums may meet U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and other federal regulations and United Nations (UN) guidelines regarding the storage and shipment of hazardous materials. Hazardous storage drums are often assigned a UN code to indicate the container type, performance level, specific gravity, hydrostatic test pressure, and other information. Hazardous storage drums are used in a variety of industries involved with manufacturing, shipping, and environmental services.
Eagle Manufacturing Company manufactures industrial safety, haz-mat, and storage products that meet International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards for quality assurance. The company, founded in 1894, is headquartered in Wellsburg, VA.

I have added a few photos to show what my setup looks like. It's well used and it shows. One photo shows the reinforcing ring I made from 3/8 plywood. Use fender type washers on top to spread the load when tightening it all together. Don't over-tighten or the cyclone could break. I also show my electrical control system. Through a simple cheap 8 amp wireless remote I am able to trigger a 25 amp contactor and power on/off these vacuums from anywhere including outside. This shop vacuum system is very reliable and powerful. Oh, be sure to ground the cyclone and especially the metal clamping ring on the lid otherwise you will get one very strong static shock.
The drum has approximately 1/8" thick walls. Lid is about 1/8" thick also. The ring holds the lid on very securely and yet allows ease of opening to empty out the contents.
The drum arrived somewhat pressurized due to altitude changes. This pressure caused the bottom to dome out a bit. When I released the ring I could hear the pressure release. The bottom remained slightly domed but seems to become more stable as time goes by. It still sits on the ground well.
The top is not flat; it's slightly domed by design. I cut a 6" hole in the top and drilled six bolt holes to hold the Super Dust Deputy XL on. It fit fine.
The drum is not too large, is fairly lightweight and is very sturdy.
Buy a barrel with a locking ring. It will make your life so much simpler. Without it, you're forced to create a multi stage seal that will assuredly degrade to some degree every-time you empty your barrel.
Aside from the locking ring, this barrel is extremely well made. High grade plastic all around and a decent gauge metal on the locking ring. If you're adding this to a Dust Collection setup, this is the level of quality you want...your only real question left should be what size to choose.

If i end up expanding, I'll buy again!
