Don't like it. You have to cock the gun every single time you want tape, and it isn't easy either. It's extremely wearing on your hands after about 5 minutes. It also isn't a roller in the sense those typical 'adhesive' rollers are (ready to go, drag and apply), you have to press the button, every, single time as it craps out 1 1/2 inch long pieces of tape, you can't go any shorter, and then you have to 'drag' it against whatever you're doing. Need more than 1 1/2 inch of tape? Well, be careful when dragging or it will cut it, since the blades hug the tape. Overall, just not a good purchase. Seems more bother than it's worth.

Doesn't cut evenly or consistently

I really want to like this item, but I've had trouble with the way it cuts the tape. When I first got the item, it wouldn't cut at all. I emailed customer service, and while they were courteous, they couldn't help with the issue and sent me another tape gun. This one cuts better, but sometimes it doesn't cut and I don't know why. Also, when it does cut, it doesn't always cut evenly. You can see in my pic (these are several pieces taped to a paper and outlined with pencil) that several are fairly uniform, but the top piece is a little longer and one of the edges is askew. This isn't an abnormal occurrence but a fairly regular one. My main frustration is when it doesn't cut. I end up having to use a pair of scissors to cut up this long piece that ends up coming out. That's the part that's most disappointing. I'm writing this review now because it just happened again and it makes it feel like a subpar device. If it just cut everytime, even unevenly, I would happy.

This tape dispenser I have mixed feelings for. I love it and can't live without it, yet I have a few issues with it as well. What I like about it is that it is lightweight and it helps me to tape down my shipping labels on my packages pretty fast. A few issues that I have with it, is that once you learn the angle to hold it, you press down sort of hard and pull across and let go, but sometimes it doesn't cut and you have to cut it yourself and also the tape doesn't always lay flat. I don't want these couple of issues to keep you from buying it, because like I said, I love it and can't live without it. It does do the job for sure. It is a lot faster for me to use this than pulling tape and cutting on my own for all my shipping labels I have to do daily. I do recommend this product, just take your time and practice with it at first.

Pretty good but inconsistent

I used to love my 3M gift wrapping "bracelet" but they stopped making it. So I tried this. It works most of the time but is inconsistent. Sometimes the pieces don't cut correctly and sometimes the tape doesn't come out on the first try. Overall it's better than the dispensers off the store shelf.

Works well, but the cutting

I purchased a couple of these. I can say that they are very handy to have, but I found the I could not get 2 that functioned exactly the same. The first unit worked fine, but the second would only Cut the tape every other time. So I returned it. Received a replacement and it worked better, but still no where close to the first unit. On the replacement unit it worked if you pulled the trigger to dispense the tape, then let off of the trigger fast. If you squeeze in and slowly let out if would not cut completely. I give it 4 stars for convenience and 2 starts for product consistency. With this all said, it was a decent product, not exceptional, it works, but don’t plan to do a lot of high speed taping. The cutting Mechanism can be a little finicky. I think it’s worth the cost because of the time savings vs cutting small strips by hand, or repeatedly tearing pieces off of a standard roll.

I fancy myself the best gift wrapper around. This tape dispenser has upped my wrapping game game big time. It has decreased my overall wrapping time but increased my overall coolness. I am thinking about getting a holster for it so it is always at the ready. I will feel like a cowboy ready for a showdown.
I love the feature that lets you cut the perfect length of tape for the wrapping job. I also love that once click gets the perfect small piece of tape.

Changing the present wrapping game!

This gun is amazing!!! I usually need a tape person to feed me tape while wrapping presents but this takes over for them. I would recommend switching the tape to regular tape like in stores once it’s out as it likes to grip everything.

To use, squeeze the trigger and it pops out about half an inch of tape that you can press down and pull to the length that you want and then release the trigger and it chops itself. Pulling the length is the only issue with the grippiness of the included tape but that’s easily fixed with refills.

Loved this gun so much, I bought 2 more!!!

A must have for anyone who struggles with rolls of conventional tape.
Lost the use of one hand & this great item makes all the difference.
Simple, doesn't jam, don't know what I did without it.
However, my recent purchase, 11/2022, is the 3rd one of these. For some reason, after regular use, jarring the despenser or just replacing the tape, it stops cutting. After that happened twice, I was intentionally very gentle and careful with it. That didn't help because when replacing an empty roll of tape, it happened again.
Although unhappy with how many times I've had to replace this, I just can't be without one. It's that easy and important to use. Be mindful of this one design flaw.

OK, so firstly this thing doesn't work. It jams easily. Doesn't apply tape consistently. Just generally a pain to use. Easier to apply tape with your hands.

But even worse is the poor ergonomics. The amount of pressure required and uncomfortable grip combine to make the perfect recipe for carpal tunnel syndrome given repeated use.

Avoid this thing.

I was so excited for this “game changer” I was going to use to spead up assembly of pdf sewing patterns I printed.
Well a ball of tape later... not great. Difficult to get it to cut as blades are dull and poorly placed, the tape it came with is worst quality. Not worth spending more than a nickel on it.... if you want to throw the nickel away... sorry.

This is a great tool for wrapping gifts. It works one-handed and the length of tape is dependent on how much you need. One squeeze (and release) gives you 3.5 centimeters of tape but you can get more by just laying it on the paper and rolling it across the seam while still holding the lever. To cut the tape, release the lever on the handle. It's that simple.

It only cuts the tape some of the time, let me tell you, when it doesn't cut, it is the absolute worst!
Over the past couple of weeks I have tried different tapes, ways to press the trigger, giving it a little shake, nothing stops it from happening.
Do yourself a favor and skip it. I should have but wanted to check it out for myself. Using this is more trouble than using just a plain old desktop dispenser
