And yes, I actually caught a fish with it. Bought this because I was going on a hike and there was the potential for some fishing along the way, but fishing wasn't my main concern and I didn't want to carry a pole 10 miles through the woods. I bought this and paired it was a cheap reel and almost forgot it was in my pack. When I got to the lake I decided to fish for a bit. When extended you really can't tell this is a packable rod. Looks like any other. It fished well and I caught one small trout.
If you are looking for something really nice, keep looking. If you want a light, well built packable rod for less than the cost of some lures, this is it!
