At 11 oz and larger packed-up size, it doesn't compete with a 1 or 2 oz Chicobag or Envisrosax (both excellent products) or a Sea to Summit ultra-sil product, but it is still very versatile with is zipperedness. And its really large capacity. The capacity is what made me choose it over the Sea to Summit ultra-sil Sling bag. I'd rather carry the extra weight and have a truly versatile tote bag.
An example of how I've used it is to take it on an airplane to Hawaii with our flight food and bottled water packed in it. It then turns into a beach bag large enough to hold three beach towels and snacks, or into an awesome shopping bag.
The straps are long enough to fit over my shoulder, but probably not long enough for the everage guy.
Note that the fabric is pretty quiet, not real loud when it rubs against anything like a Sea to Summit ultra-sil bag.
I still have my Chicobags and Envirosax and totally find them awesome. And I definitely need my Eagle Creek packable tote too. But I dont; keep it in my purse like I do with my Chicobags.
11/18/13 Just wanted to update that I still love the bag, but it already has a hole it the bottom. For the price, it should be a little more rugged.
