The bags were quite simple to use, though not really amenable to "rolling" the air out. I found it worked best if I kneeled on the bag to press the air out. This didn't bother me, but it is something to note.
Also, it works best if you fold your clothes "flat". I tend to fold my clothes in smaller, but fatter bundles, but for these bags if you want to fit more in a suitcase, its better to fold sleeves in, then fold the shirt in half. For pants I folded them in thirds. With this method I fit all my clothes (shirts/pants) in the large bag, and socks/underwear/jacket in the medium.
The yellow clip for sealing the bag is handy, but if you loose it, no biggy, this is basically a giant ziploc (all be it with heavier material and one way air vents) you can close it with your fingers with only slightly more effort.
Thats all I can think of for now. I would definitely recommend this product, in fact, I purchased some as a gift for another.
I give only four stars because I am very stingy with fives, and because I have only used them for the one Europe trip (though that included packing and unpacking several times), however, I travel several times a year, so I will update after I have used them a few more times.
Most do wear out, after a few uses.
The one test, that will wear out most brands on the first trip, is to place a memory foam pillow inside the bag. This will put enough pressure on the bag (as the pillow tries to expand) that it will ruin the valve on many brands.
The Eagle Creek bag was the first (that I tried) that passed this test.
The bag did not re-expand, and the valve did not wear out, when the memory foam pillow was compressed within the bag.
