This extra-large (double) "cube" is the biggest size of these clever travel organizers, that I've tried. That makes it well-sized for travels when you are sharing a large suitcase with a partner, or when you have two distinct parts of a trip with different clothing requirements. It's almost the size of the bottom of a 22" suitcase, so will work with just about any clothing item.
I had a lot of trouble visualizing the actual size of the Pack-It cubes using just the promo pictures and dimensions, so after trying out several sizes, I've included photos to try to provide some perspective. Here you see the cube filled with a straight-cut pair of men's jeans, 5 rolled fitted size-L men's tees, 2 pairs of boxer-briefs, 2 pairs of athletic socks. There's easily enough slack in the material to allow another layer of the same items on top.
I've also pictured the cube (w/ same items) in a 22" carry-on sized roller suitcase. Notice how it pretty much fills the bottom of the suitcase. I've done a fair bit of traveling with a girlfriend, where we might share large 28" suitcases. That can turn into a mess if you don't have room to unpack, and things mix together in the suitcase. This size of Eagle Creek seems ideally suited to make couples' travel easier (hint: get 2 or more). I've also done trips that mix outdoor excursions and urban nightlife, and this size would be handy to separate out clothes for different purposes like that.
The Pack-It is a clever design that both provides structure and flexibility. The result is you can overfill the PackIt (in my pic, you could easily add another layer of items), and unless you have a solid item taking up the whole width of the bottom, there's enough extra material so the cube flexes to hold it all. The mesh makes it possible to compress the contents (as well as see what's in there). And the handle makes it easy to grab and carry the filled cube, which would otherwise feel sort of awkward (since it's soft-sided and flops over, especially this double-size).
This XL cube is a useful size for couples' travel, extended trips, or adventure travel. Recommended.
