The bag, purchased in Dec 2010, has served me pretty well for several years, but over time, it developed several issues under normal usage. This includes the zippers coming apart, the zipper handles bending or falling off, the inner lining peeling, and the handle screws coming off (I had to tape over the screws to prevent this). No worries, I thought, as I received it with a "Lifetime Guarantee - No Matter What Damage Repair Policy", and called today to get it repaired or replaced. Immediately, their Customer Service told me that if the lining was peeling, that's a sign of age, and that the entire bag is no longer covered under warranty. WHAT? A lifetime "no matter what" warranty that expires when the lining starts to peel?? It says NOTHING about this in my warranty information. Needless to say, I was extremely upset. I have a call in with the warranty manager and will see how he responds, but as of now, I'm one very disappointed Eagle Creek customer.

I had an earlier version of this bag that was excellent and that I used four times a week for two and a half years. The wheels were sturdy--much better than is usual for rolling bags--and, when the expansion zipper was undone, there was a great deal of space in the interior of the bag. I could use it to hold three notebooks, a laptop, six books, a bag of odds and ends, some food, and some clothes. At full expansion, there was about a foot-deep of usable space from the top flap to the handle at the bottom of the compartment. This new version of the bag has something like half that amount of storage space. The expansion zipper only opens the top part of the bag, to no real effect, there is a heavily padded compartment for a laptop on the flap, the handle takes up a great deal of space, the material is rigid rather than flexible, etc. I find that I cannot carry anything like the amount of stuff that I was used to carrying in the previous model. After spending $240.00 on this bag, I am probably going to leave it in my basement and buy another. It just isn't usable for my purposes. Why do companies have to meddle with an almost perfect design until the item becomes utterly nonfunctional?

I have a large Eagle Creek bag and was very happy with it for years. I needed a new carry on and went for Eagle Creek again confident of the quality. I also did some research on other brands and this still came out on top. I went on a two week trip with this as my only bag - plenty of room. The stretch feature that allows you to strap a bag or coat on the outside was a really useful design addition. However - I had to return the bag! Once it was packed it kept falling forward at the slightest touch, incline or irregularity on the floor/ ground. At the airport, in line, I couldn’t leave it without it falling over. Again and again. It needs to be differently balanced. My old bag ( an earlier version of an REI design) never fell over. I would not recommend it until this flaw is corrected.

It arrived fast and packaged for protection. I was a little worried about the interior size from reading some reviews, but went ahead and took a gamble. It has more inner space than I though and if packed appropriately you can fit a lot. You can fit a small pack-it folder with room to spare in the interior flap pocket. The inner main opening could fit a combination of package cubes, that would hold more than enough clothes. I am hoping on taking this bag for a 10 day trip to Spain and then in then later for a 2 month trip. It is very well made and I have no doubt that if I checked it on the way back, it would be coming out in great condition. So far I have loved all my eagle creek products and have no doubt that I will be returning for more. The zipper may seem hard to open and close, but if understand correctly this is because it has to rows of zippers to make this bag puncture resistant.
Edited: After using this bag for a few times I have to say that it can withstand being checked and it definitely fit all of my things with room to spare. The one thing I didn't like, and I took down a star for that is that this inner laptop sleeve takes so much precious space. I will never use this pocket and since it has padding it makes it more "puffy". I wish it wasn't there at all.

I purchased this suitcase after being extremely satisfied with the 22" carry-on version of this bag. The suitcase is incredibly lightweight for its size, and it weighs less than 10 pounds. The fabric seems like it will be very durable. All of the exterior compartment zippers are a sturdy puncture resistant design. All possible wear points are reinforced with heavy duty fabric, corner bumpers, or a black rubber like material. The telescoping handle is sturdy and smooth. The wheels are also well protected. The wheels are large, roll easy, and should be able to handle any terrain. The pockets are well thought out and provide a degree of organization. The bag has a coat keeper and built in add a bag strap. I purchased this bag in blue. It is fairly sharp looking, and it should be easy to spot in a sea of black bags found at any airport. I will update my review if I develop any problems with my bag.

This is one of the only suitcases that meets international flight size requirements for carry on luggage. The wheels and handle work well. However, the handle takes up a large amount of space in the suitcase and the spacing of the handles makes packing anything else awkward. The zippers are also fragile and a bit hard to zip.

Falls forward
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 31, 2020Style: Tarmac, 21.5,Color: Asphalt BlackVerified Purchase
A decent suitcase. As others have mentioned the inside is quite small due to the handle - but it can be expanded. The quality of the materials is good.
My issue is that the case is not well balanced. It keeps toppling forward - especially in expanded mode or if a computer bag is stored over the handle. The front feet need moving forward. This is a big negative for business travel.

In many ways this is a great bag, but the zips are super-stiff

In many ways this is a great bag, but the zips are super-stiff, and I'm concerned that they're going to fail. One of them already zipped up with a misalignment of the teeth on first use, and this was without having much stuff in it. One of the zippers for the main compartment (there are two so you can do it up from both ends) is so stiff I have given up using it and am just using the other one. Disappointing for a bag that costs this much.

Top class manufacturer. Lighter than Tarmac 25 which has two extra straps that I think make it more secure.
I have the Tarmac 25 and my wife the Tarmac 26 - no problems - backed up by guarantee.
