If you make booklets but don't want to use a long reach stapler, then this is for you. I tested this stapler and it works on 20 sheets of paper! BUT, the trick for that is you need to use the right type of staples. Premium Standard, CHISEL POINT, High Carbon Steel. Chisel Point is key.

I love the swivel function of this stapler. I homeschool and put together a lot of booklets. I was considering getting a long-armed stapler and this is so much more convenient. My one complaint is that if I am doing a lot of stapling, it will start to act like there aren't any staples in it once it gets down to 20 or so. I have to keep trying to staple 3-4 times before it'll work or take out the remaining staples to replace with a longer packet. Oh, and it doesn't take full size staple rows, I have to break them apart, which is a little annoying.

This has been the best tool I have purchased for making my booklets and I have literally made a few hundred by this point. I HIGHLY recommend this stapler. Like I want to buy another and just hoard it. I have noticed there have been a few questions about this item and they have been really adequately answered.

This hasn't been asked but I thought I would state that this is really a 12 page stapler. But you can make a great 5.50" H x 4.25 W booklet with 10 art paper pages just fine. Thanks for making such a fantastic quality item. Love it!

I love this stapler. I make a lot of small booklets and this stapler is perfect. I have used other long throated staplers, but they are cumbersome to store. This is the size of a small stapler and does the same thing as the big cumbersome ones. It is also a lot better priced. The only problem is that occasionally a staple doesn't get completely closed and I have to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to close it. It may be that this will work out once I get more used to using it and apply the correct amount of pressure. I really like that it has 3 different pre-set positions.

Clever stapler for low-volume booklet stapling

This clever stapler is OK if you have a small number of booklets to staple and don't want to spend a lot of money on a real saddle stapler. On the positive side, the stapler is no bigger than a regular stapler, and the pivoting head allows you to staple along the center line of a booklet that has been made from regular letter-size sheets of paper folded in half. On the downside, getting the stapler exactly aligned along the center line takes practice, you have to do the top staple then flip the booklet over to do the bottom staple, the stapler anvil creates curved rather than flat staples, and the stapler requires a sharp motion or it misfires. Everything considered, this is an excellent solution if you're doing a small number (say <20) booklets and don't need for them to be perfect; if you have a larger number, or create booklets frequently, or need perfectly aligned and flat staples, then consider a dedicated stapler designed specifically for booklets.

It takes a bit longer to line up than an electric bindery stapler, but who wants to pay $400+ for something that big and heavy and have to clamp it to something unless they staple hundreds of booklets every week? This thing can work like an ordinary stapler, or you can use it to staple booklets about 3½ inches away from each edge, which is plenty even if you're folding 11×17-inch paper into an 8½×11 booklet. It's a good value, too, at only $12.99. It doesn't come with staples, but that's not a big deal when you can purchase 5000 premium Swingline staples in a plastic box for only $3.19, which should last me at least a few decades.

When you fold letter or A4 in 1/2 in booklet format, you gotta staple. problem is no staplers have 'deep throats'. The special 'deep' ones I did find, were 30-75$! for a stapler?! no way.
Initially (and I recommend this) get a piece of old cardboard. OPEN your regular stapler and use it to push a staple through your booklet with the cardboard under that. Make sure the bookelet is center page UP. carefully pull the booklet off the cardboard and use your fingernails to flatten the staple.

However, this will solve the problem as well! (if not better!).

I bought this for stapling the centre of homemade notebooks/journals and it does the job perfectly. I can't believe it's a cheap as it is compared to the prices of the long staplers. I'm not sure how many pages it will go through but it's doing the trick for me. To be fair the price is probably reflected in the fact that it's not a heavy metal contraption but it's sturdy enough for the use I need it for. It also only takes up as much room as a regular stapler and the way you can move the handle about is quite clever. I'm very impressed with this and would recommend over the pricier long-arm staplers if you aren't planning to use if for really heavy-duty projects.

Oh wow. I just love love love this. You can angle this so that you can staple pretty much any book but also you can staple diagonally so the staples stable in adifferent direction. I.e. instead of stapling inwards they would staple outwards. The probably doesn’t make much sense- but when you see it, you’ll understand! Really easy to use and takes standard staples. All my books are now fixed! Absolutely 100% worth the money.
