I replaced a 550w PSU with this 600w PSU. I was skeptical about the quality and the noise because the price point was quite low. I am very pleased with this purchase. It installed very easily, had all the right cables, and came with several extensions including SATA converters. The big surprise was how quiet this PSU is. Very happy with the purchase.

Didn't have high hopes for this PSU when I bought it for a ridiculously low price 3 years ago, but it worked flawlessly since February 2010 until today. Nowadays, when plenty of good-looking but cheaply-made PSUs don't last a month, 3+ years is a pretty good run. In fact, PSU still works and powers everything just fine, but today, out of the blue, the fan started making that horrendous noise plenty of other reviewers mentioned. It's unbearable, like nuts and bolts being shaken in an empty metal bucket, so it's time for a new one. Too bad, in addition to being incredibly cheap and working great for a long time, this PSU had tons of connectors.

My Original Review:

"Great power supply. So quite and inexpensive. I expected noise and annoyance instead I got easy to install and quiet."

New Review:

The power supply died after 9 months of operations. I will give the company credit for replacing it. So, the warranty is honored. But, I'm going to have to report that the quality did not stand up to even one year of use. It is entirely possible that the product is good and that my experience is not representative (on-off experience) but I can only report on what I know.

Purchased this in Dec 2009 lasted about 14 months - unit started to make a very bad rattling noise. Replaced the unit with a Diablotek 500W PS that has a 3 year MFG warranty - purchased at Micro Center for about $25 on sale. New unit Sounds quiet (about the same as the Eagle Voltas when it was new. We will see how long the Diablotek lasts.

This seemed like a good 600W power supply for the price when I bought it. Buyer beware, though: it only lasted four months before I started hearing a rattling noise coming from inside it. At first I thought there was something getting stuck in the fan, but after some research I discovered that the sound I was hearing was the unit starting to short out. To make a long story short, I ended up having to go to the store to buy a power supply that cost more than twice as much as this one. I should have just bought that one in the first place. Save yourself the money and headaches and stay away from this piece of junk.

Any decent 600 watt power supply should minimally weigh in at or above 4.5 pounds. The major components that limit output amperage are the transformer(s) which are copper windings around typically an iron core. The more windings the heavier the output capacity and the greater the weight of the power supply. My 500 Watt 80+ certified power supply weighs 5.9 pounds. I do not own this item and I wouldn't use it even if it was a gift. Think about the risk of buying a $200-$500 graphics card or motherboard and frying it with a cheap power supply. Amazon should give you complete stats on electronics and they simply don't do it??? This shipping wieght is either a typo or is a tip off for the kind of quality that screams BUYER BEWARE!!!

Everything about this psu is perfect so far. More connectors than you can shake a stick at. Plenty of power to push my rig running 4 HD's , overclocked intel dual core proc, geForce 9500, and everything runs full power at all times.
