I have always been a "brightest, smallest flashlight" sort of guy. My previous light that I bought 4 years ago was the P1D-CE by Fenix. It was the first light that carried Cree's LED's (the same company that makes the LED in this light) which proved to be twice as bright and used half the power of comparable Luxeon LED's. I have followed LED tech for years and even make my own flashlights on the side that I give to friends. I am also a meticulous researcher and always read up on as much of the product I consider buying. So when I say that this is by far the best light I have owned, I hope you understand what I mean.

Eagletac now produces the D25C, which comes in both the Cree XP-G and the XM-L varieties. The difference, in layman's terms, is that the former is older, but more geared towards longer "throw" (how far the light can go). The latter is more "floody" in nature and allows for a more even cone of light that may not throw as far as the XP-G. It's also newer and slightly brighter.

The design of the light is fantastic. The entire light is rated at IPX-8 waterproofing. This means that the light is "is suitable for continuous immersion in water". I wouldn't consider this a dive light since those are built to withstand much higher pressures, but everyday use in the rain or even underwater should be no problem. The knurling and steel clip all provide additional grip to such a small light. The tail switch is a reverse clicky (meaning it's clicked "in" when it's off and clicked "out" when it's on). The light also takes CR123A lithium batteries, which are slightly more expensive but are higher in voltage and energy density compared to alkaline batteries.

I've tried 2 other name brands and 5 knockoffs. This is by far the best everyday carry unless you are satisfied wit a pinch-light. Very small vary bright. love the controls. prefer using the 3 v batt but love that you can use the 3.7 v for 700lm. Cons 3.7v doesn't last to long. Think I may prefer the Cree Xm-l T6 Led model for outdoor use in fog.

Wow. That's all I can say about this light. I wanted something to fill the place between my SureFire E2D Defender and my JetBeam lights. The Eagletac D25C has great brightness and multiple functions that are easy to change to. In fact, by tightening or loosening the head of the light about 1/4 turn, you have access to two different programable settings. I have one set for low and one set for HIGH, but a couple taps on the tail cap switch and you can cycle through seven different functions and three different light levels. I highly recommend this light.

So the light is smaller than what I thought which is actually great for what I wanted it for. I don't have any tools to measure the actual lumens but I know this thing is really bright. Build quality is great as well.

Update 3-27-16: I bought this flashlight almost two years ago and still have it. I've only had to change the batteries once so far, granted I don't use it daily. Honestly this is one of the brightest flashlights I have seen in person. I love it!

I've used this Eagletac D25C Clicky for several weeks now and love it. It is small enough to keep in my pocket and I have been very surprised how many times I pull it out and use it to help illuminate any variety of thngs. Sometimes, I use it outside to find things in the dark and the top levels of brightness are incredible. Other times, I use it on the lowest setting to read menus in a dimly lit restaurant.
The clicker on the bottom makes it easy to operate with one hand. I recommend this light if you want a small but bright flashlight. I've tried other brands that some of my friends have which cost 30 to 95% more than this powerful Eagletac and I'm glad I saved some money with the D25C Clicky pocket light.

This is a perfect little EDC light, kept on my key ring at all times...I bought it after Ferfal [...] gave it high marks, to replace my little button battery Streamlight that I had been using....Runs off of cr123 battery, lots of lumens, strobe setting and a very low power option too....

You wont be disappointed with this device.....

Very configurable. When moonlight is enabled, you have a mode that outputs 65 lumens for over 10 hours (and it looks brighter than that as well)!!! Perfect for an EDC...with the 397 lm mode just a head twist away.

Very well built, and excellent regulation circuit.

I received this as a gift from a buddy. He knew I didnt have one to carry and he purchased this. It is powered off of a CR123A battery (Similar to my Surefire lights). This thing is TINY! It is small enough to fit in my back pocket and not get in the way. The twist to change mode, and then half click the button to switch is a bit tricky. I find myself only using the low and high illumination. Only time I use the strobe is when I am showing someone the light. I love how bright it is for the compact size. However the first night I used it, I caught it on a car seat (You dads will understand..) and bent the clip, Using a torx screwdriver I removed it and bent it back. No problems since. THe clip is also chrome in color, while the rest of the body is black. I wish it was black to conceal it a bit more when clipped on my person. I would def recommend for a good EDC light.
