I was wrong.
While the sound qualities on this are just as good, the construction isn't worth a cent. These headphones broke at the glued joint where the over-the-head portion meets the slider band within a week of gentle use. On the old pair this was a solid piece (I still have them). The sound continued to work however, so I accounted it to my just being rough with them. I used some glue and ingenuity and stabilized the broken joint so I could continue using them, being extra gentle and trying to use them less often. A week after that the sound in the non-broken ear went out.
I have taken my old pair and worked some careful duct-tape magic on them, and am now reusing them again. Something in the Toxix production method has changed, and are not worth your money anymore.
I picked a pair of these up for under $15 at walmart and was immediately impressed with the sound quality. I couldn't believe such great sound was coming out of such cheap headphones.
At first they would become a bit uncomfortable for me after an hour or 2 of having them on. They would press my ears into my eye glasses and it would become quite painful. However, after 3 weeks of using these headphones daily, this pain has gone away.
Within a week of using these headphones, they started to become less painful. I've had them now for about 3 weeks and they almost feel like a really comfortable pair of gloves on my ears.
But. . .Just like previous reviewers have stated, my connection started to go out. I'd have to move it around and fiddle with it or else the left side of the headphones would cut out completely.
I was okay with this. . .what's the big deal about having to re-adjust the connection once in awhile right?
Well as the days progressed, it worsened. I found myself having to fiddle with the connection more and more.
Now after about a week of the connection issues, I have to adjust the connection nearly constantly in order to get these headphones to work properly.
I really, really wanted to love these headphones. Cheap price, GREAT sound, and after some getting use to they became quite comfortable for me.
But the connection issues just ruins it for me. I don't care how little they cost, or how comfortable they are. . .if I can't get sound out of them, then they're useless to me.
I am tempted to purchase 1 more pair of these headphones to see if I can get them to last any longer. . .they really do produce great sound when they work. Maybe my pair were just faulty?
sound qual was pretty good. comfort level was decent, made my ears hot, but all over-ear headphones do, so no biggie. they seemed kinda flimsy. the audio jack is what went out shortly after purchase in both pairs that i bought.
i purchased 2 of these. the first one went out in the left ear a week after i got it. i sent it in for a replacement. the second one went out after 3 weeks, so i couldnt get a replacement, since space2shop has a 21 day refund policy. so yea. lets see how teh replacement goes, but im not expecting it to last very long. waste of 25 bucks.
edit: the 2nd set went out 2 weeks ago, same issue: it went out in the left ear. apparently, there is a fix. if you can get your hands on a replacement audio jack and a soldering iron, you can remove the old jack and replace it with a new one, problem solved. but doing that isnt worth my time, id rather just spend 7 dollars on my regular sony earbuds.
