I received my new CDs a few days earlier than expected & right on time for Mother’s Day.
I immediately played both discs and instantly went back to when I was in grade school to high school, jamming to Led Zeppelin.
Fast forward 51 years later....and I’m a grandmother of five still jamming to LZ.
Just want to give a shout out to A Buyer’s Paradise for the awesome customer service of getting my order to me in a timely manner. The discs are brand new, in mint condition and I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase. Thx!
Rock on for Peace...🤟

I see a number of reviewers urging people to just get all the Zep albums on CD. There's nothing wrong with that. If you think you might like every note they ever recorded and you've got plenty of moola, then by all means, go for it! Hey, I was at that point back in my younger days. First, I collected all their albums on vinyl (many of them second hand, and already pretty worn). Then in the late '80s I caught the digital bug, and replaced them with the first run of CDs. In fact, my very first CD purchase when I bought my first player was LZ II. After awhile, though, I started realizing that the sound of these early CDs was rather hit and miss. Zep IV (Zoso) was, in my opinion, the worst offender with a somewhat muddy sound and a lower volume than the rest. When the 90's remasters came out, I liked what I heard, and carried out another full upgrade.
As I've gotten older, I'm finding that my tastes are changing slightly, and although I still enjoy listening to Zep on any given day, I've noticed that I tend to skip over certain songs when I listen to a full album. I've become rather picky in my "old age" (just for the record, I'm in my 40s). I've been purging quite a few CDs from my collection over the past few years, but every so often, I want to hear some Zep, but just mainly the highlights.
Some time ago, I purchased Mothership because the track lineup really appealed to me, and my local music shop had a hellova deal on it. I was blown away by the sound, but not in a good way. See, there's this trend with the music biz lately called the "loudness wars" (I'm not going to go into the details here; You can Google it or look it up on Wikipaedia), and sadly Mothership is a textbook example of that "maxed compression and volume" mastering. It just doesn't sound good to me.
So I was glad to find this set still available with a similar track lineup and the same exact mastering as the '90s remasters. Zep I is well represented here, with its four best songs, but unfortunately there are only two Zep II tracks, which is one reason I only give this set 4 stars. That's fine though, since I decided to hold on to my Zep II. There are no skip-worthy songs on that particular album anyway.
I was never a huge fan of Zep III, so there is no love lost over the fact that there are only two Zep III songs. Zep IV is well represented, although to be super-nitpicky, I would have put Misty Mountain Hop in place of The Battle of Evermore.
Disc two has a mere two songs from Houses of the Holy, another reason for not giving this a perfect rating. I've held on to my full "HotH" CD, so I'm still good there. The rest of Disc two flows well for me, as it does a fine job with the highlight songs from the mid to late '70s albums. It works well for me.
Bottom line: I highly recommend this set for anyone who is either just getting their first taste of Zep (you won't be disappointed), or anyone who, like me, is not in love with every song on every album they put out. And it sounds great to my ears.

I bought this set when it first came out and played it so many times that I wore out a few songs and just bought another one.
What I love most about this set is that it has 23 awesome songs that were personally selected by Jimmy Page, and they cover a wide range of albums.
I DO own the "Complete Studio Recordings" which is awesome. I think THIS set of Early and Latter Days is great for the car, or listening to a good mixed selection of outstanding music without having to pop in a new CD.
I would definitely recommend this set to anyone who is new to Led Zeppelin (the younger generation whose parents are still listening ;)
and the sound quality is amazing. Excellent KASHMIR version. EXCELLENT ALL AROUND. I would buy it again and this would make a GREAT GIFT for anyone who loves Led Zeppelin as I do.
Whole lotta love,
Barb

I was looking for a "best of" album and this is certainly it. Good selection of their music over the span of over 20 years.

Copy Protected - Carefull
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 6, 2014
I give this 1 star to draw attention to the review - I would definitely give this 5 stars normally for quality of sound and content but be warned that it is produced in Germany and is copy protected which will mean you can play it with no problems on any machine other than you PC with Windows 7 or later. I could not understand at first why it played so well in the car but not on my PC. Did some research and apparently Warner label does not use something called the Redbook system and on anything produced in Europe they put this copy protect code on the disk which makes it hiss and sound distorted like your speakers have blown. There is no way around it, even using another player because it recognises that is has recording capabilities.
As I have (typically) only the PC as a Hi-Fi in my home it is no good to me unless I want to sit in the car or buy a Hi-Fi to listen. If you have that and do not want to listen to it on your PC - Great Purchase and great value. I would have liked to exchange it for another without copy protected (EU) but Amazon will only exchange like for like.

Bought this out of curiosity. Led Zeppelin were before my time but as I get older my music tastes have widdened, allways loved 'Whole lot of love' so bought it for that, but didnt realise how many other songs I knew and loved. Has now become one of my favourite cd's.
