This is a fine book, with an accurate approach to the subject. For me, an adult beginner, it was overly simplistic. But all the other members of the family found it very enjoyable.

It does provide a complete picture, but without the extra depth and detail of other books on the subject.

I consider this book better aimed at the younger crowd. If you have family, get this in addition to some other more detailed guidebooks just for you.

This is a funny and accurate introduction to the concepts behind flintknapping. Don't think for a minute that you'll be able to pick up a rock and make an arrowhead after reading this book, but you'll appreciate the understanding this little book provides. I'm an archaeologist and have taken flintknapping classes, and I still learned a couple of things! If you really want to learn how to flintknap, start with this book, then go find a flintknapper to teach you. It's an awefully hard thing to learn to do from a book!
