About the Author
Suzanne Strauss Art is the author of ten books about early cultures geared for middle school students. She taught history at Fay School, a private school in Southborough, Massachusetts, for sixteen years. Currently a full-time writer, she still finds time to visit local middle school classrooms to share her love of ancient and medieval cultures the children.

Someone in my homeschooling group had suggested this to me, but now I'm wishing she hadn't. Suzanne Strauss Art's books are generally a good read for middle school age groups, but when I know the information has been refuted and is not accurate, I have a hard time handing it over to my daughter to read as if it's fact.

Having just graduated from college with a degree in Anthropology, I was sorely disappointed. I think if I showed this to my former teacher, a Mohawk woman, she'd have a fit to see this still marketed for educating American children.
