By Mark Satin on January 5, 2014
Format: Paperback
How can we heal the public and private pain of all the people on this planet? That is the question this remarkably brave and audacious book ultimately seeks to answer – or at least begin to answer. In the process it it takes you on a fascinating ride, ranging from the intricacies of Henry George-style economics as applied to actually existing 21st-century economies in Pennsylvania and elsewhere, to Hartzok’s experiences in local and global social change movements over the last four decades. At a time when even the most “progressive” U.S. policy analysts rarely think holistically or see beyond the world “as is,” Hartzok’s book will hopefully serve to shame and inspire us all.
