This book talks about Edgar Cayce's statements concerning changes that have occurred in the world or which Cayce predicted would occur in the future.
These are not just physical changes such as flooding and the geographic movement of land masses although those types of changes are discussed. It also discusses economic and political changes and the evolution of religious and spiritual thought on planet Earth. So the second part of the title of the book is important.
Cayce seemed to be concerned about dramatic geographic changes and upheavals that would occur around 1936 and then between 1958 and 1998. He predicted that large sections of the United States and all of Japan would be underwater at some point.
But then in other places Edgar referred to the scripture passage where Christ said it is not for us to know the specific times when future events would happen. This seems like a sort of contradiction and it wasn't clear to me what future events he was talking about which we shouldn't try to find out.
Edgar believed in the Book Of Revelation in the bible and he said that what he referred to as the 'first' resurrection will be followed by 1,000 years of peace on planet Earth.
I suspect most Edgar Cayce experts will say that prophecies about the future was not one of Edgar's strong points. To me Cayce was at his best when he talked about things that have already happened.
The forward in the book indicates that the vast majority of the Cayce readings dealt with health issues. That was another one of Edgar's strong points.
However one prophecy I found interesting seemed to be predicting World War II where Edgar said that unless supernatural forces intervened the entire world would be set on fire by those with a lust for power. He also seemed to predict the assassination of president Kennedy when mob rule would take over in America.
Cayce's statements about how the Great Pyramid in Egypt is a sort of prophecy in stone are fascinating. Edgar provided an alternative history of ancient Egypt which is very different from the conventional view.
A confusing aspect of this material is there are two cases where entities in the spirit world began speaking through Cayce. One said he was Halaliel, the archangel of karma. Another said his name was Zorain and he was associated with Zoroaster somehow. This just muddies the water even more.
The last chapter is about Cayce's philosophical views and vision for the human race and the impending new age. There's some interesting statements in this chapter which aren't really prophecies for the future as much as Cayce's hopes and aspirations for our troubled world.
The most accurate term to describe Edgar Cayce is a Christian mystic. Edgar felt that all of the world's troubles are caused by people forgetting God and their neighbor.
Edgar's students asked him to comment on something Rudolf Steiner said about how some sort of threefold social order would arise in America. Cayce replied:
"To bring the threefold activity of any individual other than God's will produce a problem - whether Rudolf Steiner or whatever name ! For there's only one name given whereby man shall be directed."
Rudolf Steiner is one of many so called visionaries who heard voices from unseen entities in the spirit world. Joan Of Arc's spirit friends lead Joan down a dark and dangerous path and they abandoned Joan when she reached the end of that path.
I wouldn't recommend this book for someone who is new to reading about Cayce. The material is hard to understand and follow at times. Cayce isn't famous and believed in by so many people today because of his prophecies about the future.
But experienced Cayce fans will probably like the book to review things they have already read about.

This is a really interesting book; but some of it seems hard to follow what is being said. I am still reading it and it is slow reading because I have to stop and think about what Cayce is telling us. It seems that the style of the "spirit" talking through him is different at different readings. There are at least three different speaking styles that I have noticed so far. All in all, I think it is definitely worth buying if you are interested in Atlantis and ancient history of the earth.
I rated it a 4 because it is sometimes confusing; but that is not really the fault of the book, it is just how the readings are interpreted.

Reminds me of an Astrology reading. You read a lot of stuff that only confused me. They need to write a book interpreting the book, would be a pamplet 15 pages at most. If you have patients there is good stuff. I believe in him but the book, what a pain.

Very disappointed that there is no map of the earth changes. I know that they exist. Wish they’d include one. Otherwise it’s the great Cayce materials.

I've read a lot about Edgar Cayce but this is the first book I have ever read of his actual "readings". While interesting, it was a difficult read because the "entity" channeled through Mr. Cayce seems to not have a true working grasp of the English language. This first part of the book is much better than the later portions which become mired in religious and biblical references. It was nevertheless worth reading.

Some of it was a bit difficult to read because of the convoluted language. You had to sort through it to get to the meaning behind it. But I did learn a lot and felt it was worth reading through to the end. I'll probably read more of his books. But his message was clear to anyone wanting to listen to him.

I love Edgar Cayce's work and this book was no exception. Although, he had a way of talking that I had to go back over a couple of times it was very informative and will gladly reread a book like this anytime.

Having read, and thoroughly enjoyed, all the previous Cayce books, I started this wanting to re-read what he said about the earth changes.
It only has 3 stars because I was disappointed. The original texts have been 'dissected', 'explained' and 'embellished'. Probably the author felt the need to do this was a good idea. I disagree. Unfortunately I don't that I'm reading something special, like the original was.
However, for anyone coming into Cayce for the first time would probably enjoy it.

Read this and you will realise Cayce was a total fraud.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 10, 2014Verified Purchase
Extremely disappointing. I've read a lot about Cayce, mainly written by Cayce fans who desperately want to believe in him, and they have referenced a lot of the things said in this book. However, when you read this book you will realise that the visions and predictions are so vague and fuzzy that they can be interpreted any way you want, and that all of the more specific things just simply have not happened. Not entirely a waste of money because this book, once and for all, made me realise what a total fraud Edgar Cayce was, and just how deluded his followers are.
