Mogwai's move to Sub Pop seems to be a good fit. If you got the bonus edition of "Hardcore Will Never Die", you got a bonus disc of a sad, stately soundtrack to an art exhibition, one of the best things they've done. This EP continues in that vein and suggests a new, moodier direction, using a lot of legato strings. It will be fun to see if they keep going this way, or go back to the more pounding sounds on the first disc of "Hardcore."

Fantastic follow-up to Hardcore. I love this band. I am a metal fan (Slayer, Saxon, Volbeat, Behemoth, Megadeth, Motorhead etc...) but after seeing Mogwai live they can contend with every band out there. Yes it is different, but that's what is so good about Mogwai. Great vocals on the second track (good surprise)
