Some reviewers complained that it was too thin and flimsy. I found it to be tougher than say aluminum foil. I folded it over and tried to but a crease in it as a cutting guide. I could hardly see the crease. With aluminum foil it would have been very viable and a crease or wrinkle would never come out. This does not wrinkle.
As for light shining through, well you can see the light. Paint a window black, but a bare bulb next to it and go outside at night an look at it. You can see the bulb or rather a silhouette of it in the black window, depending on how much paint you use.
I warped it around three outside of my little 4 shelf greenhouse, held it in place on the open end with cheap plastic clamps than but the clear plastic cover on the greenhouse. Over lap the maylar about 3 inches, after the cover is on clamp the cover and maylar to the frame. Works great.

This product page is for Earth Start Reflective Mylar and I received ‘Viagrow’ reflective sheeting, not Mylar.
The product I received is not as reflective as Mylar, and is backed by a white backing. Maybe it’s 1 mil of Mylar and 1 mil of white plastic. Actual Mylar as this was advertised, is slightly transparent. This stuff curls up everywhere it is not glued or taped down and is a pain to manage. It reminds me of designer wrapping paper. I purchased the Earth Start Mylar a few years ago from this seller and it came as advertised, not this time. I needed it for a project that needed to be done ASAP so I could not return it. I will never buy from this seller again.
