From the Author
I began "From Earth to Terra" as a means to combat boredom. I had a job that required me to be in attendance for eight hours a day (minimum) even if I had nothing to do. And we had nothing to do most days. Our little group had no internet access so even if we brought in laptops, we couldn't go online. I didn't want to use up all my data on my phone, we all know how expensive that can be.
So, I started writing. I had no plan, no outline, I just started. I have always enjoyed descriptive writing and really didn't think I would do more than write a few pages. Boy, was I wrong! The entire first book in the "From Earth to Terra" series (yes it will be a series ) was 17 chapters and over 600 pages long. I loaded it onto a jump drive and headed over to the local Office Depot to have a hard copy printed, single sided, 8 X 10 sheets. While it was printing, I went in search of a small binder to put it in. You cannot imagine my surprise when the clerk handed me all 340 pages! I needed a bigger binder!
For a variety of reasons, I scaled the first book down, deciding to keep writing and complete a second book by the end of 2016 (If all goes well).
I remember one man who worked near us. He was a complete and total jerk. I disliked this man immensely! One day after an incredibly intense confrontation with this man, I told one of my co-workers I was going to kill this guy. The look on his face was priceless, and I hurriedly explained, in my book.
It was extremely gratifying to have Jamal killed. (not the guy's real name of course.)
Every time he would upset me after that, I would just smile and think to myself, "He's dead. I killed him."
The hardest part was trying to figure out what to do once the book was complete. Of course, I wanted it published. But the proposition of finding an agent seemed daunting and then to get a publisher interested in my book, well, I started dragging my feet. Around this time, my neighbor sent me some information to a class at our local Library about self-publishing. I had NO desire to self-publish. It seemed to me to be like a 'for sale by owner' type of deal. I couldn't possibly do this on my own., I would need help. However, after the class, I was confident I could do it.
I got on Facebook and sent out a request for a Graphic Artist. My daughter-in-law hooked me up with a couple of her former classmates. I went to Create Space and the rest, as they say, is history. I hope you enjoy reading "From Earth to Terra, A New Beginning" as much as I enjoyed writing it. Look for the second book to come out at the end of the year.

There were a number of errors throughout the read, so another round of editing would be beneficial here. For instance, Chloe was referred to "Chloe", "Chloe' ", and "Cloe. Easy fixes, but still distracting.
Overall, though, the read was enjoyable and would recommend it to Sci-Fi fans.
