I absolutely love these soap flakes. I used to use grated castile soap to make laundry soap, but these soap flakes are so much better! I mix this up with borax, baking soda, and washing soda, along with lemon essential oil. My clothes have never been cleaner. Brightens up colors and makes whites brighter as well. And it cleaned my washing machine's tub too! I am sold on this product!!!!

Bought this soap so I wouldn’t have to grate bars of fels naptha for my laundry soap. Smells great in the package and doesn’t stink up my house when I’m making soap! The smell isn’t strong when you wash your clothes, which is nice. It doesn’t gel like the fels naptha and doesn’t break down in some washers. The container is a huge pain to open when new and every time you try to get in it and it’s a pain to close. I will get this again because it looks like the packaging has changed since I bought it last year.

EDIT: I tried not using borax in my homemade laundry soap and it gelled up nicely. I’m unsure what changed because I’ve been using this recipe for years. I’ll have to experiment and see what went wrong.

You definitely need a tub hook to open it, but I don't mind that.

The detergents you buy today are harsh on your clothes and the laundry comes out looking dingy so you buy a lot of additives to try to correct it, but they never do get the job done. With this product and the two compliments to it: washing soda and borax, you get clean laundry looking just like our moms and grandmas did in years gone by. The whites are dazzling white and the colors are bright. Clean, clean, just as it should be. I also use sodium percarbonate (OxiClean) for the whites, but you don't have to. Sodium percarbonate is Oxiclean but without the fillers. I only use it for whites or when something needs to soak.

Doesn't disolve immediately, but other than that, it works very well. Use it for laundry as it meets my requirements for perfume and dye free. 1 quarter cup per load along with the same amount of baking soda and a little borax makes for a clean, fresh load of laundry.

Nice and sealed...pro tip if you do not own a bucket opener, put the bucket on the ground and put your knee in the middle of the bucket and pry lid open...then work your way around the container to get open.
