Graphics: Its not shiny and sparkly like some other RPG's on current gen consoles, but it is pleasantly smooth and colorful, it runs at 60 frames and is charming and kind of adorable, there's not a whole lot to battle animations, but the simplicity reminds me of classic games like FF5, FF6 or Chrono trigger, kind of like a battle layout from bygone era's that rest nicely in my man boobs.
Game-play: There is a surprising amount of customization in the character's from a statistical stand point there are skills to learn and items to collect, there aren't a million things to organize and remember which in this games case can be a boon. The battle system is simple yet complex enough to remain engaging and at times challenging even.
Story: I hate story spoilers, but I'll let you know its a nice simple story with some interesting points and interesting characters, I haven't beaten the game yet, but so far I'm with it.
Sound: The music quality is pretty damn good, really likable, there is no voice acting but there are battle grunts, I'm cool with reading text, I played RPG's in the NES/SNES era, that's what we did and we liked it! "thank you sir may I have another!"
Half Full Verdict: This game is a pleasant nod to the classic RPG era, which is not for everyone, but for the open minded gamer you'll get your moneys worth and then some.
Thank you and always remember, sometimes the glass is half full.
So to sum up: A LOT of interesting ideas, but the game needed way more work.
