From the Manufacturer
The MiniMe P8 subwoofers have a much smaller cabinet and footprint than common subwoofers, and accommodate a tiny 8-inch driver new to the Earthquake family, providing a surprising bass response and high output unlike any other 8-inch sub on the market. The SLAPS patented passive radiator ensures that even this tiny area moves as a absolute piston right through the subwoofer bandwidth and beyond.
Driven by a 320W Class-D amplifier, this driver can produce king-sized amounts of bass power with absolute control--enough for most large high-end projects.
All-inclusive controls are provided so that the subwoofer can be integrated seamlessly into either a multi-channel or 2-channel installation. The MiniMe series of subwoofers are very easy to install in cabinets or custom projects. With its exquisite 7-layer piano black lacquer finish, tiny footprint, and high fidelity sound the MiniMe subwoofers are a fine audio solution for any home.
SLAPS Passive Radiator Design
Earthquake's patented symmetrically loaded passive radiator allows the user to enjoy the benefits of deep bass and the full impact of sound effects without having to put up with a giant eyesore in the room. SLAPS lets Earthquake subwoofers go very low without having to increase enclosure volume. The patented SLAPS design eliminates the traditional need for a spider and basket, and allows the system to be tuned to an infrasonic frequency, producing the performance of a sealed enclosure design, but with a much smaller footprint.
Low and High Level Inputs
In an existing system, you can use the low-level RCA inputs to connect to power other full-range speakers in the system, or use the high-level input to run the speaker wires into the amplifier for audio input.
Phase and Filter Control
A 0- to 180-degree phase switch allows for precise control of bass response. A low pass filter dial allows for a variable 24dB per octave, with a range of 35-100Hz.
Signal Detection Circuitry
Built-in signal detection circuitry detects when connected devices are on. It automatically shuts off the amplifier after 30 minutes if music is not detected.
High-Level Speaker Outputs
Two bypassed, high-level speaker outputs can be used to power up other full-range speakers in your audio system, driven by the P8 sub's built-in amplifier.
