Lise Gold is an author of lesbian romance. Her romantic attitude, enthusiasm for travel and love for feel good stories form the heartland of her writing. Born in London to a Norwegian mother and English father, and growing up between the UK, Norway, Zambia and the Netherlands, she feels at home pretty much everywhere and has an unending curiosity for new destinations. She goes by ‘write what you know’ and is often found in exotic locations doing research or getting inspired for her next novel.

Working as a designer for fifteen years and singing semi- professionally, Lise has always been a creative at heart. Her novels are the result of a quest for a new passion after resigning from her design job in 2017. Since the launch of Lily’s Fire (2017) she has written several romantic novels and is currently working on ‘The Compass Series’. 'French Summer' (2018) has won a Lesfic Bard Award and 'Fireflies' (2018) was a Goldie finalist.

When not writing from her kitchen table, Lise can be found cooking, traveling or singing her heart out somewhere, preferably country or blues.

So I’m starting with this had the perfect follow up to the last story and answered all my questions there even though it was a sideline to this story.

I thought this was a perfect story to follow the last as I felt Kate needed her story told, I did want more Hanna and Kristen for sure but after reading this and seeing their story come to its end I felt this was really the best way to do it. Kate and Felicia make a great story and unlike so many other authors it’s it’s own story and I love it for that. The travel was great, the side characters were very fun and the food descriptions made me very glad I don’t travel. I wish there was more of these 2 but I’m very happy with what I have.

I do wish she would break her paragraphs but I get through okay. I can’t wait to see what the next story brings because I’ve found a lesbian author who doesn’t add extra drama for no reason and doesn’t copy/paste her plots!!!

My first thought after finishing this book is, I really need to plan a trip to Thailand. I came here for the romance, and Lise Gold did not disappoint, but I also absolutely loved the setting. I have heard how immersive her books can be before, and felt it for myself during Eastern Nights.

Now onto the romance. It was perfect. I loved the idea of two “players” having excellent chemistry and being unable to ignore it. I appreciated that there was some conflict over changing their ways to be together, but it never felt over the top. I never felt like shaking one of them to come to their senses. Kate and Felicia felt real and worked through their insecurities in a way that was believable and so very enjoyable to witness. Highly recommend this one and can’t wait to start book 4.

I love that it is a continuation of the storyline with characters you know and introduces exciting new personalities that definatly stir the pot. Sex, love, attraction, passion, and deep connections are handled very well. The travel descriptions are so good and it felt so comfortable to be thousands of miles away from anything you know. This book packs quite a punch in a short amount of space.

Kate Simmons and Felicia Perez meet at a bar in Thailand and immediately spot the player in each other. This series is a delight, each book unique and engaging. The characters from all 3 books intertwine seamlessly and like a perfectly blended cocktail, Eastern Nights intoxicates you with its spectacular exotic imagery and abundance of spicy romance.

If you want to follow The Compass Series, I suggest you buy the whole series first off, simply because this book is written so that you can follow it on its own, but you will really want to follow the history, and next volume to get the very best of the whole story. The whole series is unputdownable! I could not fault it. The storyline is inventive, down-to-earth and incredibly sexy! I recommend you read it for yourself, and get the tactile book for your collection!
