This book is very well written in that it is thorough in what it covers, while making the actual work involved seem easy.
In reality, propagating plants is not complicated, but it does require a little practice. By following the steps outlined in this book, you should find success fairly quickly.
One note of caution...it isn't always as easy and trouble-free as the author would have you believe. If you have 80% success, you are doing well.
McGroarty's style is easy to read and follow. There is nothing here that will leave you wondering what to do next. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. He does, however, temp you to buy other products to get the full story (intermittent mist system). Your local extension agent should be able to provide that information for you free of charge.
One last note. This book is geared towards Northern gardeners. If you are in the Southern US, adjust your time-tables and plants accordingly.
The only thing that annoys me about this book? He keeps citing or pointing to his website. The information is more detailed on his website, but I bought the book to be able to read the information without going online or having a computer with me.
