It does not treat the City of Pittsburgh in any kind of expanded way and as such
was disappointing to me.
I thought the regional area would be the towns around Pittsburgh - but, not so.
The regional area is huge - perhaps not quite all of southwestern PA, but,
enough of a spread that the Pittsburgh area and it's surrounding towns
comprise a small central area of the large, fully opened map.
It took me awhile to actually find Pittsburgh on the large full map side ....
it's just buried and did not even have a deeper line outlining the city ....
The other side has small, zoomed-in areas of the large map.
Pittsburgh is in one of these zoomed-in squares, but, it's small and of no value.
This RM map will be tossed in the fire pit - perhaps when it burns there will be pretty colors !
The search continues for a current map of Pittsburgh and surrounding towns ....
The "Big Island" of Hawaii, with its Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park, gets more detailed coverage, including insets of the town of Hilo and the park itself. Oahu, the most popular tourist destination, includes detailed coverage of Honolulu. The map sheet includes indices of the major towns and tourist attractions. There is a really handy inset showing time-distance factors between the island and between the islands and the mainland.
This is a large sheet, roughly 36 inches by 36 inches, probably a little clumsy to handle in the front seat of a car. It is probably not detailed enough for navigation by car or on foot away from the main roads, and definitely not for use at sea. It is made of untreated paper that is unlikely to survive close encounters with rain, spilled coffee, or pool water. It is however likely to be sufficient for planning a vacation in Hawaii and for driving directions on the main roads. It is recommended on that basis.
