Easy Silence left me a bit conflicted. Honestly for the most part the book was just okay. Not amazing, but not the worst I have read either.

Samantha, or Sam, is the senators daughter. She seems to have everything, but in reality she would give it all up for a family that loved her. A family that was there for her. While her parents are off traveling through Europe Sam is staying with her grandmother who has Alzheimer's. She keeps thinking Sam is her dad's first girlfriend. She meets some of her dad's old friends and they obviously know some secret about her dad, but she cannot seem to figure out what it is. This was part of the not so good. It is obvious what the big secret is, it is even almost pointed out to her directly, and yet she is still like I have no idea what is going on. What is the big secret? Who was grandma talking about? I am going to be wilfully ignorant because it is not frustrating to read a character that seems to have their head stuck on the sand. That or is incredibly stupid and cannot add two and two to make four. Either way not the best.

Jaxson, or Jax, has not had the best of lives. Everyone in town thinks he is good for nothing since his parents both are. That annoyed me a bit. I was glad that Sam would stick up for him with everyone. She would always yell at them to not judge him based on what his parents did. That was one of the good parts of the story, one of the things I liked. Jaxson needed someone on his side since almost everyone in their town seems to be against him. When Jaxson first meets Samantha he is pretty terrible to her. He thinks she has it all and she is too good for him. They slowly get together and fall in love and make plans for the future.

Storyline: This is Jaxson and Samantha's story. Jax and Sam meet on the beach one day in the summer before she is to go off to college to study international studies per her father's requirements (even though her passion is acting). Sam's dad is a congressman and Jax's mom is the town drunk/druggie/whore...so needless to say they are from different worlds. When they meet, they are both in dark places but are drawn to each other in a way they have never experienced. Jax is hard to get through to, but Sam keeps on trying because she sees the good man beneath his hard exterior. They fall in love. After they both have some majorly shocking family revelations they are separated, but in the end are reunited for their HEA.

POV: Samantha's POV

Overall Pace of Story: It was a nice pace I think. Jax's walls were hard to get through because he was so damaged -- so one might say it was slow...but I feel like it was just right.

H rating: 4 stars. Jaxson. Good looking but really damaged man with a good heart. A protector at his core.

h rating: 4 stars. Samantha. I kinda cringed at her efforts to get through to Jax at first, but she won me over with her persistence.

Angst level: High. I was balling at the end of this one! Tissues definitely required.

Heat level: Moderate. Some steamy scenes, but mostly about the emotional connection vs. the physical...just the right amount.

Descriptive sex: Yes and no...parts are physically described but others are more focused on emotional connections.

Closure: OMG!! I am still emotional from this one!! Well... This is a hard one to write about. Was there closure? Yes definitely. Was it they closure I wanted? Hell no! It's a hard one to rate for sure.

I have never read anything by this author before, but I will be checking out underperformed soon. This book is a sweet read. It will grab at your heartstrings. It has a very untraditional HEA. As a reader, I am glad she did not change the ending to this wonderful story. This is one of those books I could not put down, and may cause a bad case of book hangover for me. Grab some Kleenex for the ending as you will need it.

This book was very difficult to like Jax in the beginning he was such a total jerk but after getting to know him you certainly understood why. Their's turned into a true love story and it was very sad that it turned out the way it did. It felt a little shock factorish to me, but I still liked it.

I didn't need a box of tissues for this book, or a paper towel because i knew how it was going to end so I was prepared. I guess this is one book that I shouldn't have read all of the reviews beforehand, it kind of ruined it for me.

I wish there could have been better things for these 2 characters after everything they went through, that's what made it sad for me. So, all in all, I liked this book a lot but I didn't love it.

His Samantha. Her Jaxson.
This story weaves a tale of love that surpasses all time. Past, present, and ever lasting. The writing is beautiful, the storms these two face is heartbreaking and the time together is flawless.
Samantha is the strong girl, hidden behind a preconceived notion of the "that girl." Jax has been through tragedy- some he is unaware of and is the epitome of broken. These two heal each other, yet become shattered together.
This story is not for the faint of heart and you will believe in love when you read their story.
