“Love fades … or it’s selfish … or unkind … but a diamond, a diamond will last forever.”

Stories like these are the very reason I spend so many sleepless nights feeding my reading addiction! Nothing prepared me for the wild stampede of emotions that ran through me while I devoured this book cover to cover, my absolute investment in the story and its heroine surprising me at every turn. This is not a sweet romance, this is not even a typical romance as such—this is the very candid tale of a beautiful swan who never escaped the painful memory of being an ugly duckling, and whose every choice in life only fed but never quenched her insatiable hunger for attention and acceptance. This book wrecked me, consumed me, brainwashed me, and I am not even sure I am capable of walking away from it just yet, my mind still spinning in a million different directions, trying to put together the intriguing pieces of Blaire White’s complex personality. I have no idea how this has happened, but I am utterly enthralled by a damaged young woman who thinks “spreading her legs open is her superpower”.

“What is love? I don’t know. I’ve never had it. Is it even real?”

Blaire White was a neglected child who spent countless nights crying herself to sleep due to her parents’ perennial absence and lack of affection towards her. But her pain eventually turned into bitterness and apathy, her desire to be loved as a child now replaced by a constant need to feel desired and needed by the men she seduces, uses and then discards.

Virtue is defined as behavior of high moral standards. And easy as we all know can mean a great many things. Blaire White: she should want a life that is virtuous and maybe that is what she will ultimately strive for, but for now, yes, there is no doubt one might consider her easy.

The latest book from Mia Asher delves deeply into the world of a woman, who early on in her life, decides to use her looks, her body to get the future she craves. Blaire, the girl who was taunted as a young girl for her less than appealing physical attributes, whose eventual rebirth from ugly duckling into swan paves the way for a journey that is used to hide the pain of never really knowing love.

I was completely engrossed by this storyline from the very first pages. The author paints a picture of our heroine right from the start: she is about to lose her virginity to one of her teachers. A sort of payback if you will for all the cruelty thrust upon her when she called a fat duck amongst other things by his daughter, her classmate. Blaire admits that it seals her destiny that night in a seedy motel, and after reading her story, I’d have to say she was absolutely right.

But what is so fascinating about this book is that even though we go along for the wild ride that is Blaire’s life, starting over in NYC, where she has now resided for the past 5 years after leaving home at 18, is that despite her failings, I like her. This is a woman who knows how to work her way around rich, desirable men. Yes, she has a hostess job at an exclusive restaurant, but in order to live the life she craves with designer clothes, a nice apartment with fancy furnishings, she must sell herself to the afore-mentioned men, being their arm candy for high society events and satisfying them in the bedroom.

Who is Blaire? Blaire is sex and money. She loves money, she loves sex and is willing to give up her body for the almighty dollar. Do I like her? I just don't know, the jury is still out. Do I secretly wish I were her? Hell yes! This story is written by Mia Asher and I knew she would screw with us yet once again. Overall the story was great. I was engaged and felt like I was reading like a mad woman. One minute I'm 20% done and the next I've hit 80% and realize there is still so much more story to be told. This is book 1 in the Virtue series and thus there is a to be continued.

I found Blaire selfish and self centered, but also a bit on the damaged side. She's a gold digger and uses her looks and body to get what she wants. I liked this story and it did have my emotions all over the place. Blaire has no moral compass which makes her unlikable to some. As soon as I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt or cheer in her corner she goes and screws it up! She's a broken woman who desires and craves love. But getting hurt is a greater liability than she's willing to take.

Mia Asher is known for pushing boundaries in her stories. This is not your typical love story. It's twisted, angsty and pure torture at times. Her writing is addictive and sexy. She makes you feast on her words. The need for more is evident long after the story ends. This holds true for Easy Virtue especially with that ending. My only complaint is the length - I wish it were longer!

I am going to be point blank here... What I loved...

I loved that after reading EV I was so high that I had zero need to pick up another book.
I just kept thinking and smiling and feeling content. Why start reading another book and
have all my gooey feelings washed away??? I want to cling to this!!!

Blaire
Ronan
Lawrence
The writing.
The story telling
The realness.
Blaire....Ok so we all know gold diggers- true well Blaire IS one. She owns it.
It's her life and it's one main thing I love about her. She believes in it and there is nothing else.
No matter the very cute guy who instantly warms her. Who by the way I LOVE!!

There was no rushing of I love you when the bedroom became on fire, there was no rushing to
have wedding bells rings. Blaire stayed true to herself and what she believes and what she wants. Another LOVE from me.

I freaking LOVED THE END.
More than loved it.
My heart stopped.
My breathing halted.
I had to reread...did I just freaking read that....YEP. I sure as F*CK did!

Because well I didn't have anything to hate...it's Mia!
