These encoders and cables are the easiest I have ever used. They are basically plug and play. I'm currently using them with sanwa joysticks and I just duct taped them to the back. The holes were really small. I did run into an issues in recalbox where they would invert when I got into a game, but they still registered so I think that might be recalbox. Hopefully they last

I've installed several of these. They have worked every time, exactly as expected. I've used them on PC's from XP to Win 10 as well as on various Pi boards. They have been "plug and play" every time. Just make sure to plug the joystick into the connector at the end of the board (furthest from the USB connector). It looks like there are two spots to plug in a joystick, but one is a USB and the other is the actual Joystick connector. Just FYI

The only warning would be that the supplied connectors don't fit HAPP buttons. I had to modify each connector to work with the larger spade connectors on the HAPP switch.

These work great with the Super Retrocade!! I reused my old Qanba joystick and changed the USB controller and cables. This works wonders if you have an old fight stick and need to update the USB controller to some other system. I could not use the old Sanwa joystick cable from the Qanba. I needed to use the one from this kit. Note: this kit comes with the joystick cable for Sanwa style joysticks. Look up MadLittlePixel for options on the wiring. You use 1-6 for buttons and 9-10 for select and start. 2 and 3 are the B and A buttons. The Street Fighter style is the way to go. 2,3,4 on top row, 1,5,6 on bottom row. This works perfect for Street Fighter 2. Thanks to Mad Little Pixel for the button maps and info on Zero Delay USB controllers. BTW, I got the two pack Zero Delay and an empty joystick case so that I can make another controller stick from my old Qanba parts and extra buttons. Two player delight!

Also, this will work with PC and Raspberry Pi builds! I use my PC to verify the buttons and joystick control visually in Devices and Printers. Take note that if the joystick does not register, you may need to flip the cable around on one end as the pins are reversed. Windows has a nice preview of the button maps and joystick position for checking. Cool stuff and highly recommended. The other kit they sell does not have the Sanwa joystick cable.

My computer recognizes this device with no additional drivers. I am using this as a "game" controller for a pc. I wrote the software and this shows up as a game controller, 12 button inputs, 4 joystick unputs (Up, down left, right - two together for diagonal) and it looks like there is a 5 pin joystick input and some other items i don't know how to code for. I like the standard USB cord, the old style has a 4 pin connector on one end, USB on the other. Old style white PCB, new model is black. The new model seems to be a SLIGHTLY different shape and the inputs are in a different layout. 2 in the pack. Comes with a bundle of premade wires ready to plug in with terminals that fit buttons. 2 USB cords. 2 five pine joystick connectors. Easy. my code uses the joy stick inputs as "extra" buttons - actually state of joystick input while button pressed for a total of 48 inputs (12 buttons X 4 states). Super fun!!

I used this for a virtual pinball machine. Impressive controller! ZERO lag to PC. Immediate response. The cord length is small (seems to be designed for a Raspberry PI application). Luckily they give you two entire bundles of cord. I spliced and crimped the cord to make it longer. Amazing value for the price.

Love these but be ware that red does not mean positive. If you use the plugs in the power port black is positive and red is negative.

Used this for a mini button box. It works as expected, no software required. I only wish these came without or had an option to disable, the extra axis inputs. I could see these potentially causing issues if a game title wanted to use those as inputs, or ghost inputs started showing up.

    Nice boards.
I have about six of these boards. I use them for buttons boxes for flight simulators (DCS and MSFS).
On each board I can use 12 buttons for landing gear, flaps, etc.
    Comes with connectors.
I mount them to 1/8 ABS sheet using hot glue and screw the ABA mount into the console.
Plug and play. No scripts to write.
The games sees them as 'generic controllers'.
Just map them like you would your HOTAS in the simulation.
Cheap alternative to factory made simulation boxes or panels.
