If you are a DUDE and not familiar with the CE diet, this would be a great start. I have read some of the beginning and find the manner to be very "guy." I don't know how to explain that any better. The pictures are of guys and what a woman would think of as being "guy stuff."
I purchased the Kindle Edition of this item. (cost about the same as purchasing used and having it shipped). If you click on a recipe in the contents it will take you to that item. I thought that was pretty sweet.
Some of the recipes in here are definately mouth watering and NOT INCLUDED in other "lady" editions of the same family. There is even a "date night" section (for the man to suprise his lady) with a recipe for white chocolate mousse.
They also included recipes from other countries that sound interesting.
So for the ladies out there who are wondering, "should I get this for the recipes?" I say yes. You can never have too many CE recipes in the house.
For new guys to this way of eating - it is not a 'diet.' But I would add the Clean Eating Cookbook for more CE variety.
Another unintended consequence of this lifestyle change is that it has saved us money! We used to eat out quite a bit. We would spend nearly $700 per month eating at restaurants and fast foods!! Trust me, it's not hard to do if you eat out 2-3 times per week with an average ticket of $50-$60. So far this month (through August 23rd), we've spent just $32 on dining out! Last month, we spent $74! We are saving over $600 a month because we cook at home instead of eating out. Unbelievably, we are also spending less on groceries. I am very surprised by this because I, like most people, thought that clean (healthier) foods would cost a lot more. Well, that's not true! You would be surprised as to how much unclean foods in the grocery cart add up. Chips, soda, frozen pizza & beer = $$$$$. Now that we don't buy those foods and very little alcohol (only wine occasionally), we spend a lot less on groceries overall and have more to spend on lean meats, vegetables and fruit.
I highly recommend this book! It has changed out lives for the better!
Also, the Kindle edition needs some improvement. There are several missing pages in every chapter. Not sure if they're supposed to be pictures, or what, but it was very annoying. I think some were email's from people that have succeeded with the lifestyle, but I can't be sure because, like I said, they're missing.
