Anyhow, if you have dry skin - it is more noticeable when you apply this foundation, or any foundation for that matter... I would suggest applying rose water to your face before applying the make up. Make sure there is no moisture, or else the foundation will not apply well. Apply in sections. This foundation dries quickly - so you need to do portions of your face at a time (either way, this is how I have always applied my make up...) Rub it in over your face, then after, I would suggest patting your fingers against the freshly applied make up, this helps reduce the streaking that occurs from rubbing it in on your face. A little bit of this foundation goes a long way, so you do not need much. (I would not over apply this make up, that is when it starts to look flawed. If you are experiencing a breakout and are trying to cover the redness from acne/etc., after applying all over the face and patting it, dab a tiny dot on your finger, then dab that tiny dot of foundation to your acne - let it sit for a few, then pat it.) After the application is done, apply the Ecco Bella Face Powder (I purchased the Fair color). This helps with shininess. You may need to apply this throughout the day, depending on how oily your skin is.
We have also recently had some hot weather, and I have not had any issues with this foundation sweating off of my face. I got slightly more oily than usual, but the face powder helps with that!
I came from using the CoverGirl Natureluxe Foundation - Alabaster, which is full of all sorts of crazy ingredients (just like every thing else in America...) Ecco Bella FlowerColor foundation does not apply as nicely as that foundation, but it looks as good as that foundation after it has been applied.
I would say if you're as pale/light skinned as I am, purchasing the Ivory Porcelain color would be a good choice. If you are unsure of what color to get, look at the descriptions listed on the Ecco Bella website. I would suggest going a shade lighter than what you think you are, for blending purposes.
If I do end up creating a video review, I will post it on here.
The true test with liquid foundation is how it wears and I worked behind the makeup counter so my standards are pretty high. I also keep in mind that this makeup isn't filled with chemicals and perfumes and that's why I am so forgiving about this foundation. Of all the Ecco Bella products I bought this is the one that I am least satisfied with. I can see the color setting in my pores and I get streaking with application. It's a little on the chalky side and doesn't blend as smoothly as other chemical foundations do. I think that when I check my color half way through the day that isn't still there in my more oily spots, not as enduring as I would like.
Will I return it? Absolutely not. Will I buy it again? Maybe. If I try other organic foundations and I find something better, no. But if I find that this is the best one out there I can live with it. It isn't horrible by any means, it just sits on my skin the way foundation used to sit on my skin before companies discovered more unnatural things to add into them to get them to be smoother and look more even. I'm totally willing to trade these coverage issues for quality of organic materials and eco-friendly brand. That's more important to me. What I won't do is go back to those chemical ridden perfumed foundations.
With that said the color itself (I bought bisque) is great, it matches my skin tone quite well and I love how the color stays true throughout the day. Paired with the pressed powder (pale) is the lifesaver for this foundation. The powder covers all of my issues with this foundation flawlessly. It evens out and softens when I need it. I love that it has SPF that's important to me.
To solve the blending issue I use a foundation brush instead of my fingers and that works like a charm. There's a little streaking with it so my next step is to mix a little moisturizer with the foundation to see if that will make the coverage more even.
All in all I'm happy with it but I do want to be honest to those who are reading reviews. Overall I am thrilled with the Ecco Bella line. If you are looking for a makeup that will be kind to the earth and your skin, try this. I've been very happy with this line so far.
