These are very handy to have in each room, especially for an elderly person. I can drop in on my mother 30 miles away to check in her, and she can reach me with just her voice. The sound isn’t great for listening to music like the large Echo,, but these are outstanding for hands-free safety, asking the weather, setting a timer/reminder, adding to a grocery list, running a Smart house, drop-in intercom use. I wish they weren’t being discontinued as my mother could use several more.

This is a wonderful a
self sufficient device to group with my additional smart Alexa devices.
The good:
1.) Easy peasy setup & syncing
2.) Works as it's own unit, so it's not just a speaker, she can fill you in on your calendar, make calls, answer questions, turn on other smart devices, and you can add a night light to it, which is awesome.
3.) Really suitable for out "range" areas like your bathroom or kitchen, hallway, etc.
The bad?
I honestly don't have anything down to say. I'm really impressed with the Echoflex, plus it came with an added smart light bulb which works wirelessly, so that was a nice perk. I noticed that some had complained in reviews about the speaker quality. But I really don't know what you're expecting in regards to speaker on a device of this nature. I think it works perfectly for what it's intended to be. You can totally play music, the quality isn't superb, but it's fine, and in terms of acting as an intercom, or asking for help, or turning on any other smart devices, again it works perfectly as it is intended to be used. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s 👏🏼🥰

We use it in our bathroom. It's plugged in right next to the bathroom sink which makes it very convenient to use while brushing teeth or during a night beauty routine. It also comes in handy when you are in a shower to check the time and weather to start your day right. It is sometimes too sensitive and will respond to a command from another room. The sound quality is not the same as on other Amazon speakers and probably will not be ideal for larger rooms.

The Amazon flex itself works great but the smart bulb didn't work as promised. The smart bulb kept disconnecting from the flex and my Alexa account and I kept having to reset it (a big hassle) until one day I just couldn't reset it successfully anymore (only about a month after original installation). Like the heading says, I have 2 Echo Flex. One in the kitchen with one of the 3rd party clocks attached and one in the downstairs half bath. That one has one of the 3rd party night lights.

I end up using the kitchen one mostly, especially for setting timers and controlling the kitchen light. With hands full, I can as Echo to turn on or off the light without putting anything down.

The bathroom one other than the night light, I use that one to have Alexa tell me a joke while I doing my business.

The sound quality is to be expected from such a small device. It works. There are a few times where Alexa ignores me but I have a deep voice and sometimes people don't hear me so I'm used to it.
