These 1 star reviews really make me mad. People don't read the directions, or try to use the clock for what it wasn't intended for, and then they write a negative review. If the clock did everything people THINK it should do, it would probably be a $200 clock. It's really quite a simple product....... This clock hooks to ONE current echo device, and enhances the timer features. So if you have an echo in your kitchen or living room, you can say "Alexa set a timer for 5 minutes", and the clock lights up 5 markers. Once it gets down to the last minute, all 60 markers light up and do a one minute countdown. It's great for if you are cooking in the kitchen and don't want to keep asking Alex how much time is left, or maybe you have kids and do a "time-out" timer that they can see. It doesn't hook to your phone (why would it? You are "mobile" with a phone, and not in the kitchen). It can't be connected in the app (They've made it easier. No app required. Just say "Alexa set up my echo clock", and she does it. You just need to say it on the actual echo you want it connected to). So for all these people that want to write a bad review, and didn't take the time to really understand what they bought, it's such a shame. The Mickey Mouse clock looks much nicer than the original to me. It's Chrome on the outside. It just looks a little fancier. However....I like my original one with my decor. The white/black goes better in my kitchen. I put the Mickey Mouse in my mom's kitchen for Christmas. I have never had an issue hooking it to an echo, and I have never lost a connection. If folks are losing a connection, it could be your WiFi connection and not the clock. Or you've deregistered, or unplugged the echo it's hooked to. I've had the battery go dead in my clock, replaced the battery, and the clock magically reset itself without me doing anything. I recommend this clock. If you have a problem getting it to work "ask" the community a question before simply giving up and giving 1 star.

If it wasn't for Mickey... (I like it but...)

If it wasn't for Mickey, I likely wouldn't have been that interested in this device. With Mickey Mouse on it though, well, it became more interesting. Between that and friends that were talking about a bit, my interest was piqued and I was left thinking that there were certainly less useful things I could have spent some A-Z gift cards that I'd gotten over the holidays on.

The clock itself for this is nice. It takes a little getting used to the idea that there is no way to manually set this device. It ties in to an Echo device and figures out from same what the time is. With that known it syncs the clock to that Amazon device and sets itself for you automatically. That part was neat though it may take it a little bit of time to run the hands around to the current time.

Once set the clock becomes useful as a standard wall clock. Mostly. I say mostly because it is nice and should be fairly easy to read but the arm length for Mickey's arms are relatively close together. I did a quick glance at the clock the other day and totally mis-read the time. Like swapping the hour and minute and thinking that gee it's later in the day than I thought and I must have pulled a Rip Van Winkle while I was taking a short nap. After a quick glance over at the Echo Show device that I have sitting not too far away I could see the correct time, even with the clock dimmed on same.

Value for the money question is one that I would say is a bit tough to answer. You are paying for the licensing here, or at least I'm betting that you are. Given the mouse corp's penchant for getting income, I'm definitely saying you are paying for the licensing. I would also note that while I can see the timer function -- though had an issue with same that I'll cover in a minute -- easily enough, that I think I had more expectations for same. I wondered how it handles multiple timers (learned quickly when I tested it in my home). It makes sense after the fact, but what it does is show the timer that is closest to being done with the countdown and then shows a single line instead of multiple lines for any timers beyond that. So if you had say a 5 minute countdown remaining you see the 5 marks for the 5 minutes that remain for that timer. If you had a 10 minute timer running at the same time, you'd see a single mark at the 10 minute line that shows you that timer is working.

As to the timers, I discovered an issue that annoys me a little with this clock in that area. I have a couple of One-Link Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms that are Alexa Enabled. Those work well for listening for Alexa commands and they hear pretty well, annoyingly well at times as they hear things that I wish the Echo Show would hear instead. Most of the time though they worked just fine. Except if I set a timer via one of those devices that timer won't work at all via this clock. This clock doesn't work with those devices as it wants a direct Bluetooth connection to the clock from the Echo Show device (or original Echo type device).

In the end, as much as I like this device, and would buy one again, it is a middle of the road type thing for me, settling in at 3 stars. A Disney collector would certainly enjoy it. It is nice enough to display proudly. It just seems not to have so much functionality that I could recommend it as a MUST HAVE device. 3 solid stars. Bordering on 3-1/2.

A bit of a story here, so bare with me...

I love Alexa devices. So useful, and I use them quite a few times a day. I have them in every room. In my bedroom, I bought one of the Alexa dots with clock built it. It's the perfect alarm clock except for one important thing... awful, and I mean awful sound. I tried using bluetooth speakers, and that improved the sound a little, but cause other issues. So regrettably, I need to scrap my alexa dot with clock for a full-blown echo studio with premium sound. And that's where this Echo wall clock comes in.

In some ways I like it. It looks good on my wall, and I'm fine just pairing it with the one device. It's really cool, and useful to have the visual countdown, as I use that feature a lot to remind me about things in the oven and such. But as a *clock* it's kind of a fail. The hands on the clock are actually pretty difficult to read and determine the time with any accuracy. It's actually pretty poorly conceived, more useful as a decoration on a wall than as an actual, functional clock.
