These 1 star reviews really make me mad. People don't read the directions, or try to use the clock for what it wasn't intended for, and then they write a negative review. If the clock did everything people THINK it should do, it would probably be a $200 clock. It's really quite a simple product....... This clock hooks to ONE current echo device, and enhances the timer features. So if you have an echo in your kitchen or living room, you can say "Alexa set a timer for 5 minutes", and the clock lights up 5 markers. Once it gets down to the last minute, all 60 markers light up and do a one minute countdown. It's great for if you are cooking in the kitchen and don't want to keep asking Alex how much time is left, or maybe you have kids and do a "time-out" timer that they can see. It doesn't hook to your phone (why would it? You are "mobile" with a phone, and not in the kitchen). It can't be connected in the app (They've made it easier. No app required. Just say "Alexa set up my echo clock", and she does it. You just need to say it on the actual echo you want it connected to). So for all these people that want to write a bad review, and didn't take the time to really understand what they bought, it's such a shame. The Mickey Mouse clock looks much nicer than the original to me. It's Chrome on the outside. It just looks a little fancier. However....I like my original one with my decor. The white/black goes better in my kitchen. I put the Mickey Mouse in my mom's kitchen for Christmas. I have never had an issue hooking it to an echo, and I have never lost a connection. If folks are losing a connection, it could be your WiFi connection and not the clock. Or you've deregistered, or unplugged the echo it's hooked to. I've had the battery go dead in my clock, replaced the battery, and the clock magically reset itself without me doing anything. I recommend this clock. If you have a problem getting it to work "ask" the community a question before simply giving up and giving 1 star.

This is an awesome add to my echo devices!

+ Love the Mickey Mouse character on Echo. It adds delight to my home. I put the clock right next to my Disney land family photos.

+ Visual Timer and Alarm is great. My kids are now paying attention to the timers! I usually ask them to clean up their room in 30 min, and since Mickey is timing them - it's so much better than me tracking their time!

+ High quality material. The device is well made. The character and number prints on the clock was done well.

+ Setup was so easy. Less than 30 seconds.

If Mickey was telling the timer, it would have been the most amazing thing.

Nice improvement on the Echo Clock

First off, if you like Mickey, this is a no brainer. I own two of the first gen clocks (in my shop and garage) and they work well, but had two fata flaws for the girls in my family to allow one to go into the kitchen.
1- They had a black face, they didn't like that in our kitchen.
2- They wanted a clear bezel instead of open hands.
This new version of the clock now has a clear bezel, and if you like Disney I'd say that this would be a great addition, the timer LEDs are useful and the silent and always correct time is great.
I use Eveready Lithium AA's for longest battery life, mine go for many months at a time.

I'm hoping that they release this new version clock with a plain white face at some point.

For us, this clock was the easiest set up ever. Took it out of the box, put batteries in and told our echo to set up the wall clock. The hands started moving and within about 30 seconds the time was set.
I don't really find the hands hard to read at all. Until I read some of the reviews I didn't even notice the similar mickey hands to background color. I love the color, or lack of it. My kitchen is somewhat neutral in color with splashes of color added by artwork and smaller accessories. This clock matches perfectly with it's neutral background color and red mickey pants. I love Disney, and this clock definitely says Disney but it's subtle and tasteful.
It works just as it should. It's easy to see when glancing up at the clock, and echo announcing the end of timer is good when I'm out of the room. I did have the echo turn up the volume of the announcement so it could be heard from the living room.
I read the negative reviews and I didn't have any of those issues. For me, the clock is perfect, and for under $40, I felt it was a really good deal.

The clock itself is nice BUT the added cover causes a glare and can make it hard to read also Mickey's hands make it hard to read the actual time - I wish his gloves would glow or be somehow more visible around the numbers... because of this the clock is more of a show piece than functional.
