Loved, loved and loved the book. It's engaging too read and the story has me laughing and crying at different times, while it kept me on the edge of my chair while reading. If I had the strength I would like to be Eve Dallas in my next life, but I just don't think I would be strong enough. These books are emotional Rollercoasters every single time and I love them enough to come back for more, again and again.
Lt. Eve Dallas is back with all her cohorts and doing just fine. She & Roarke have just returned from a sunny, warm island (Roarke's) vacation. A battered, bloody young woman stumbles in front of their car. And the mystery begins.
I love the way Ms. Roberts blends all her characters together. We know Eve has already met her villain, it's fun to speculate who it might be.
One of my favorite series from one of my favorite authors. I'm ready for the next installment!
Long before I realized that J. D. Robb and Nora Roberts are one and the same, I was hooked on the In Death series. No one is better at developing compelling storylines and creating three-dimensional, complex characters than Roberts, and it shows in this series. If you like fast-paced, suspenseful, police procedural novels with a near-future twist, and a cast of characters you will either love or hate, but never overlook or ignore, J. D.'s In Death series is the place to start.
Note that each of the books in the In Death series is a stand-alone story, and the series can be read in any order. You don't have to read the first forty-plus books to get up to speed on what's happening (another thing Robb excels at is adding just the right amount of backstory exactly when you need to know it). But once Robb has you hooked and reels you in, trust me, you're going to want to go back to the beginning and catch up fast!
