They are advertised as--- "Blocks over 99% of light compared to ordinary curtains." Unless the ordinary curtains they are thinking of is toilet paper then I don't know what to say accept--> "Bull%!#@." We had curtains up before and needed darker ones to help our baby sleep. These Eclipse curtains block out less light, and please keep in mind the previous curtains were nothing special whatsoever. They were "ordinary curtains." Really, the previous curtains are the kind of curtains designed to diffuse light not block it. These Eclipse curtains block maybe 30-40% of the light, NOT 99%. Oh, what a joke. They are not advertised as blackout curtains, but they are only "darkening" in the sense that the room is slightly darker when they're over the window versus not. .

We have another pair of Eclipse blackout curtains that we love. These curtains, however, were a disappointment.
1. They are not true blackout curtains (i.e., the ones with black thread running throughout the material). These curtains have a light-blocking thermal backing which was damaged by the packaging. The cardboard insert from the packaging made holes in the backing, so once hung, you get some not-so-lovely pin-hole lights shining through.
2. The Artichoke color is not like it appears in the photo. The curtains appear bright in the photo, but in reality are a dull, drab olive green.
Needless to say, I returned the Eclipse Kendall panels and found something else.

I bought the ivory curtains, a total of 6 of them, for the living room. They are a perfect ivory, with a nice white backing so they are 2 layers sewn together. They do not completely make a room go black but they do darken the room, which is exactly what I needed in a living room. To keep the sun from shining in my eyes while watching TV, to keep a glare off the TV, and to keep the house cool in the summer by blocking the sun. They curtains are perfect for what I needed. So again, they do darken the room but not black it out because I bought IVORY.

I should have paid attention to all the reviewers that said these did not block light, etc. Since I didn't need TOTAL blackout curtains, I thought these might be okay. But they really were pretty flimsy...and actually were a lot more like shower curtains than window curtains...too plastic feeling. They weren't that expensive, but they were still too expensive for such poor quality. Color was nice, but that's about it.

I bought a pair of these. They arrived in two different kinds of packaging, but with the exact same UPC, so I didn't think much of it. But as soon as I got them hung it was very clear that they were NOT the same curtain. One was very much room darkening, as advertised, the other was absolutely not and let in almost as much light as a bedsheet. A pair of curtains hanging on a single window needs to match, and I'm returning them both, and am now wary of both the seller and the manufacturer. The color was perfect, matched a block in my daughter's quilt perfectly, and the room darkening panel was exactly what I wanted. Had they matched, I'd be thrilled. Again, the UPCs matched, and according to the package numbers, these were the same thing. Except the clearly weren't, and now I have a room without curtains.

I was soooooo excited for this curtains to finally come in. When they did, I was greatly disappointed. I ordered the "pool" color, which shows a much darker color than what I received. The colors are not the same as what is photographed.

These are ok curtains. I wouldn't really call them blackout curtains though. As you can see in the picture, they let a fair amount of light in. Nice color & texture. Product arrived quickly.

so, I'm giving these curtains 2 stars because they're just okay..but not worth the money spent because I still have to spend another $30 on blackout panels to go underneath. If they were cheaper, I wouldn't be so disappointed but at $40 per panel, I expect more. The color is fantastic, i will give them that. It's a perfect "bright coral" which matched perfectly with my nursery bedding. I will post a photo of how the light still pours through these so you can see, these are not "blackout" quality at all.

Moved into a new home and set up the big screen projector screen. The previously installed blackout shades leaked some light under the balcony doors, so I decided to install additional light limiting curtains. I purchased a Decopolitan 1-inch single window treatment (144") for under $20. Very easy to install. The curtains do not have grommets that let in light, but rather slide along the rod. This allows the four panels I purchased to fit neatly together and cover the 12+ foot wall. Even with the blackout shades open to let in air, the curtains keep the room very dark and make watching TV and playing games enjoyable on the 120" screen. These curtains do the job, look very nice, they're super-easy to install, and cheap!! (which is good because I'd rather spend my money on other things).

Calling these a blackout curtain is the joke of the century!!!! The Package states that they block out 99% of the light. I'm exaggerating to even estimate that they block out 50% of the light. They are cheap, however the old adage of "You get what you pay for" definitely applies here. Even with a wooden window blind closed behind them the room is not even semi-dark.

My advice is to purchase this type of curtain from Bed, Bath and beyond as they are excellent and truly Darken to almost total darkness! They are called "room darkening, not Blackout and they do an excellent job! Don't wast your money on these....They are a good quality made curtain, but if your looking for blackout.....look elsewhere!!
