What benefits do Blackout curtains offer?
Eclipse Blackout curtains offer a similar light blocking strength to Absolute Zero, but instead of pitch blackness, there is some light penetration through the panel. Blackout curtains also provide the maximum amount of privacy, considerable noise reduction, and significant energy savings.
- This light blocking level is recommended for kids’ bedrooms, living rooms, dens, playrooms, or any room where you may want the appearance of darkness, while still having enough light to navigate throughout the room.
- Blackout curtains are also the perfect choice on windows that tend to radiate heat, as they provide optimal thermal protection without creating a pitch black environment.

Top customer reviews
I was on the hunt and stumbled across 2 curtains on amazon that captured my interest. One of them was this one. I narrowed down the choices and decided in the end, to go for the cheaper alternative. I must admit, I was very skeptical in the beginning, based on the mixed reviews on here, but somebody posted a picture online on here in which they ordered the black color and she reassured the way it would reflect my decision. At first, I ordered 2, but they weren't enough. Recently I ordered 2 more so it would fit in nicely as proportioned. It's been a few days since everything is completely installed and I don't see any sunlight seeping through my room except the top corners, as seen in the picture shown. :)
It looks like a bat cave and I'm loving it! :)
I'm quite happy with my blackout curtains. As some have said, they don't provide total blackout, but they come quite close. There is light-bleed around the edges and at the top. I suppose that if I had curtain rods that rested closer to the wall it would be even better, but as it is these get the room good and dark.
I have found, though, that my eyes adapted to the new level of darkness after several weeks and I am now able to notice the little bit of light that does peek in, so I've added a sleep mask to my routine. With the mask and the curtains I'm sleeping pretty well these days (or perhaps I should say nights).
When I used these panels in Texas, the heat was 100+, yet inside my house was a very cool 60. If you pin the panel down, you will get the best results. Leaving them on a rod simply lets in too much extra of whatever you are trying to block out. Plus, for an added bonus, you can't see through them for ultimate privacy.
these do not insulate, they use a different method for blocking light
they have huge self fabric tabs to put the curtain rod through so it is hard to open them all the way. I ended up mounting the curtain rod 6 inches past the edge of the window so that the curtain would have somewhere to be during the day and not block the window.
