These the perfect size for tossing in your travel bag or even pocketbook. And they variety you get is great too. So often sets will give you a few good brushes and then another few that are duds (seriously, how many eyelash combs does a girl need?) but all of these are winners in my book. This kit is worth far more than the $7 I spent on it, talk about bang for your buck!
For my entire high school career, I had been applying my eyeshadow with those sponge applicators. I thought I was living the high life. Boy, was I wrong! My sister had gotten a set of brushes and said that they were fantastic. I thought I'd shop around. I wanted to get some brushes from a cruelty-free organization, and something worth the price. I came across EcoTools and read nothing but good things. I thought I would try these.
You can't beat the price for these amazing brushes! I will describe what you get:
Large shadow brush: This brush is pretty big for an eye brush. It is very thick and pretty dense. It isn't as soft as natural haired brushes, but that is because these are synthetic. This brush is good for applying your light or medium eyeshadow color all over your lids.
Crease brush: This brush is a little less dense. The brush is angled, making it great for applying that contour shade in the crease.
Highlight brush: This is like a dome blender brush. It is not dense at all, and very soft. It is good for applying the highlight color under the brow, and could be used to blend.
Detail brush: This one is my favorite of the five. It is basically a mini shadow brush. It is dense enough to pack on that color, but soft enough to get a nice, soft look. I use it to do detail contouring in the outer "v" and to apply shadow to the lower lash line.
Smudge brush: This brush is like the detail brush in feel, but is more dome-shaped. It is great for smudging eyeliner on the upper and lower lash line. I also use it for applying the light shadows on the inner corners of my eyes.
I have been using these for almost a year now.Read more ›
Don't waste your money on this $%&/(#
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the highlight, smudge and application brushes for the exact same reason: they weren't very dense with their hairs. I struggled with trying to apply eyeshadow with these three, so in the end, I went back to my Ecotools Eyeshadow brush (the tall one).
Overall, love the brand, hated those three brushes.
The brushes are really soft, like everyone else has described.
However, not only are these brushes super short, some of them are really big! My eyes are relatively normal size and the crease brush and the highlighter brush doesn't do much. The all over brush is pretty huge as well. This results in a pretty messy eye makeup application. My eyes look like I shadowed at the wrong places or as if I stayed out of the lines.
I really wish I spent more money on the Real Technique's starter brush set. In fact, I am planning to buy the Real Technique's set and just leave this mediocre set for travel or boyfriend's place or something.
Shipping was in time and the condition of the products was undamaged.
