The EcoZoom Zoom Plancha has two independent combustion chambers that can be lit at the same time for maximum power, or individually for smaller cooking tasks. The large cast iron cooking surface heats up evenly and can be used with flat or rounded bottom pots and pans, or can be cooked on directly. The baffled bottom side of the cast iron tops forces smoke through the chimney, removing smoke from the immediate cooking area through up to 8 feet of chimney. Each combustion chamber can be fueled with wood, charcoal or biomass and is fully insulated for heat retention and transfer. The back of the stove includes a space to stack wet wood or fuel to quickly dry.

There are flame baffles molded to the underside of the cast iron. Heats the top very well and no flames shooting up the chimney. Awesome little cook stove. Great Grandmother approved.
A very informative digital instruction file is provided By Ecozoom.
If you are expert at fire starting you can stop reading right here.
But If you are a novice in building a fire in these rocket stoves, a wad of paper and smallest kindling burns up in a flash and not likely to ignite thumb sized sticks on fire.
To get best results from that all important flash fire I suggest a fist size paper wad in the fire chamber, next smallest kindling dropped in from the top.
Then drop 5 or 6 short four inch long 1/8" thick sticks, next 5 or 6 short pencil thick sticks.
Drop a pine cone or corn cob chunk down the fire chamber, if you have them. Or, In Lieu of a wad of paper use fatwood, Vaseline cotton balls or any composite stick or lump, commercial fire starter.
We are going for hot flames fast and that all important hot bed of embers to burn the thumb size sticks. Which will result in low smoke.
Best to have all the fire material loosely staged ahead of time in the fire chamber, before a fire is lit and then success is assured. (Air/up draft, must not be blocked)
I suggest you have the 12" long thumb sized sticks at the ready on the wire wood rack and insert them when you see a flaming hot fire with glowing embers, which will not take long to see..
Too soon and flames can be knocked down.
Small fireplace bellows are handy to have on hand.
