if you can't drag yourself over to your stationary bike every day to waste time just sitting and pedalling, then this might help you out.

first, you can sit in just about any chair (maybe not a big armchair) and pedal. this is a lot more comfortable than sitting propped up on a bike seat. you can stick it under your desk, or in front of your tv viewing chair, or under your kitchen table and excercise while you read, watch tv, or eat breakfast. (well, if you're weird. i haven't tried that yet.)

it isn't as aerobic as a regular or even stationary bike, unless you concentrate on going very fast. well, sitting up, over the pedals on a bike is a better posture for vigorous activity. how winded can you get sitting back in your chair?

now, you can't really do work while you pedal, if you have it at the office. the circular leg motions disturb the stability of the upper body and arms, so trying to type or write is a little like trying to work in a moving vehicle -- a little bumpy. and forget putting the keyboard in your lap to type!

you'll also want to watch how you position it if you have a wheeled chair. the pedalling motions will actually push your chair back if it rolls, so you'll need to brace it against something.

SAFETY NOTE: none of the descriptions or instructions mentioned this, which i think is important. after pedalling for twenty minutes or so, friction heats up the metal bar that holds the pedals. after your workout, grab the unit by the adjustment knob, DON'T touch the metal. i actually burned my hand on it (that was not fun).

ASSEMBLY: this was really easy. you just slide the two base part tubes together.
