Where did he come from? Where did he go? MTV showed the video for "I want to kill everybody" on 120 minutes only once or twice in 1989 or thereabouts. Two years later I found the casette new for a buck. Best album for a dollar that I ever bought...

This album is a heck of a good time. His lyrics are hilarious and the songs are catchy. He should have been a California Folk Music Icon! I searched for this CD because my needle broke. A hunnerfiddy? Please. But if you ever come across this album, absolutely buy it. Every song is funny, poignant and fun to sing along to. Here's a sample of what some of the songs are about: A homeless guy hurling Mickey's at the Haight Street Fair; a trucker picking up a woman who wants to become a sneezeguard at a Sizzler; trying to maintain after sneaking booze from the parent's liquor cabinet, etc, etc. Great Stuff, believe me!

I had never heard, or heard of, Ed Haynes when I found this CD in a used CD store. Luckily it was one of those places where you can listen to the music before you purchase it, or I might have passed this one by. They had a couple of cut-out copies for a couple of bucks each. The first one I purchased tended to skip on the player I had then, so I purchased the second one about an hour later. "Splash" is so intense you can almost smell it. I-5 harkens the days when California's central highway was a desolate wasteland, the images hysterical to anyone who drove it back then. The other songs are also gems. The prices people are apparently getting for this are ridiculous, but it's almost worth it. If you see it for anything approaching a sane price jump on it.
