Eddie Kirkup was in military service over a period of 25 years, finally leaving in 1986 for a new life as a civilian. During his time in the military he saw action around the world in locations as far flung as Yemen, Canada and Europe. He has been, at one time or another, involved in various military engagements and the odd gun battle, receiving several commendations plus a few medals in the process.
Since leaving the military he has spent some time living in Norway, lived the life of an Islander in both Jersey and Cyprus, and developed a taste for travelling and living in the Far East. He didn't leave all the action behind him and once took on a burglar in a Norwegian post office that served as a local bank, this resulted in a little bit of infamy through the local papers.
Also interested in boxing, he has been involved with the Jersey Leonis Boxing Club and has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Frank Bruno, Sugar Ray Leonard and John Conteh.
Hardly surprising then that his debut novel is one from the action-adventure and suspense thriller genres, drawing on his life's experiences both during and after his military service. Jersey's Secret Assassin is a fast moving and credible suspense thriller which Eddie really hopes you will thoroughly enjoy.
Sadly since publishing his first novel Eddie has passed away. This book is now published in his memory and as a tribute to a man who clearly had a talent for writing.
