Compelling storyline and easy to follow. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Informative, entertaining and realistic dialogue.
Although Walker knew how to fu@@ and had driven Kate wild with a night of the kind of sex she’d never dreamed of having, he was the same as every other man she’d dated. Correction—she hadn’t dated Walker, she’d fu@@ed him, and he’d have been the first to correct her. It was sex, so she shouldn’t call it anything other than what it really was.
Plus Ms. Eckhart provides incredibly easy access to download other books at the end. Click on the link, choose your device and it is immediately available for reading.
I will re-read this book and always look forward to, pre-order when possible, works by this author.
Walker gets protective when other cops are questioning Kate. She doesn't know how to interpret his behavior since he obviously wasn't interested enough to call her in the past month. Kate decides to push his buttons and irritate him after being stuffed into the back of his police car. While Kate and Walker unsuccessfully try to fight their intense chemistry, can they manage to keep things civil between them?
Kate and Walker are complete opposites when it comes to relationships and Kate finds herself struggling to accept the crumbs that Walker is offering, while Walker tries to come to terms with his growing feelings for Kate. Will they be able to work through the conflict to find what is hidden beneath? I look forward to the final book in this series.
*I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
Kate and Walker are a mess!! Very human and evidently have never heard of the term "soulmate";they obviously belong together! Walker has not contacted Kate in a month, though, and she misses him and thinks about him all the time. Walker is a robbery detective, works long hours, and has no intention of getting attached to one woman. When he runs into Kate at her place of employment while investigating a set of robberies, they become involved again when Kate helps him. Is he going to recognize his feelings for Kate? Is Kate going to trust him with her heart? I wouldn't call the ending a cliffhanger, but, this does feel like part of a book. I look forward to the next story in the series. These characters grow on you!
I enjoyed reading this short story about Kate who works at the front desk in a hotel, and Walker who is investigating a case revolving around some guests from the hotel. There was a lot of chemistry between these two characters.
Walker and Kate are leaving a bar when they come across a body that Kate recognizes. Kate is questioned by other detectives from Walker's station and, against his advice, she helps by providing information and printouts from the hotel's computer. She gets fired the next day when Detective Weber confronts her boss with this information she gave to the police behind his back. The case now appears to be solved but I get the impression there is more to this story to be brought up in the next book.
Despite the summary at the beginning of this book, I was a little confused about how well Kate and Walker knew each other before he confronted her at the hotel's front desk while first investigating his case. Although, I guess this book could be read as a standalone, I think I would have appreciated it more had I read the first book in the series. This story was interesting enough that I probably will read the first book now and look forward to the next in the series.
