enjoyed reading a lot. I am on the fence about reading Edge of Temptation because I read reviews that Gunnar basically ordered Maud to orally pleasure another brother. I do not like my heroes being willing to share their woman and so I am still undecided.
Fidelity is something I always need in a romance book and so I loved it that Wulf like Ty (but unlike Riordan) did not have smex with OW after meeting Kathryn. He was faithful to her even during a separation. Also both Wulf and Kathlyn were likable characters.
The main issue I had with it is that some parts dragged and I became bored. There were way too many pages of hearing the characters internal dialogue. Wulf and Kathlyn would have pages of thoughts until they said anything to each other or anyone else. It was telling and not showing and it was boring. I skipped over many pages of internal thoughts to get to actual dialogue.
I was disappointing in the smex scenes. I thought the smex scenes in Edge of Obsession between Ty and Helena were hot. Not the case here. Like Wulf's personality in this story, they were muted, not hot but more lukewarm.

Another thing is that Wulf disappointed me. Wulf usually comes off very alpha. He is usually a guy he takes what he wants and goes for it. However he seemed very passive in his relationship with Kathlyn. She chased him as opposed to him chasing her. I wanted him to be crazy about Kathlyn not wiling to be without her. Instead he left her without ever expecting to see her again. If she did not come to him I doubt that he would have ever come to her and eventually would have given in and been with the camp girls, moving on. That saddened me. I wanted him to be like Ty who was willing to put Helena even before his brothers. Ty would have died for Helena and I felt it when reading the story. That was not the case here. I think that at the end Wulf threw out the "l" word but I am not even sure as the ending and their relationship was so anticlimactic. I never felt the claimed love from either of them.
Raiders Vikings against kings, and, in fact, the King Athenian was not at all pleasant. He wanted power always and at any cost.
Wulf, the Viking, is the anti-hero. Raw, dark, he has the focus on what must be done. So when he stumbles upon princess Kathlyn, the new feeling runs over him.
The book looks like a mixt of historical, dark and dystopia genres
At first, I thought I would like it, but with the passing of the reading it didn't take me. But I think you should take a chance and read it, and draw your own conclusions.
My only complaint is the amount of time spent on internal monologues, they occur every few pages and are extremely extremely repetitive.
I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
