I rate 4 stars of 5 because of the place of production and not for else.
Although Wolf Peak International (WPI), heretofore Edge, sells entire glasses, accessories, and separate lenses, they will not under any circumstances sell just the frames individually or any of the parts associated with the frame. So, if the frame or a part of it breaks (not attributable to design or manufacturing flaw) or you simply lose the frame or a part of it, Edge will not sell an entire frame or missing/broken part of a frame. Instead, if you still like the glasses, you would have to re-purchase the entire kit. All other parts of the kit not associated with the frame are replaceable. I found all this out during a somewhat awkward conversation I had with a male Edge "senior" CS rep. Pressing the conversation, I was also able to determine very convincingly that Edge will not provide any support to a customer under the circumstances described above ("that is current policy"; "just eat the loss and go buy another kit"; "you can send us an email"; "GOODBYE!", ). To put this non-premium customer service experience in perspective, it shouldn't be hard for many of you (readers) to remember any of your own personal experiences with many other well known companies that say and offer, "don't worry, we'll just send you a replacement right now. What's your credit card number...". The senior CS rep's lack of positive support was a surprising contrast to Edge's comprehensive product line, innovative technology, nice web site, and very friendly and informative phone receptionist (hi K!).
The Overlord Kit looked very promising. But Edge is looking kind of dull at the moment. They just want your sales dollars while minimizing non-warranty customer support as much as possible. Speaking of warranties, the senior CS rep repeatedly mentioned one. However, I haven't been able to find a written warranty anywhere on the Edge website, product listings on retail sites, or via google/bing of internet in general.
Deleting the Overlord Kit from the shopping cart and moving on.
