30 Bottle Wine Capacity

Capacity based on standard Bordeaux style wine bottles with a diameter of 2.75". You can accodomate larger bottles by removing a shelf, keep in mind this will decrease the stated bottle capacity.

Digital Controls

One of the most important elements of a cooling system is the controls. They should be accessible, easily understood, and provide you with accurate information on the exact temperature you are attempting to achieve. The intuitive touch control and digital temperature display allow you to easily adjust and monitor the desired temperature based on your specific cooling needs.

Tinted Glass

UV rays can cause a host of problems for any wine collection. In addition to providing unwanted heat, which puts needless strain on your cooling unit, exposure to UV light can alter the chemical makeup of your wine, potentially affecting taste and maturation. The tinted glass door ensures that while your wine bottles are visible, the integrity of your wine is protected from the potential harm of harsh light and UV rays.

Shelf Bottle Arrangement

This shelf layout will allow you to achieve the maximum bottle capacity based on a ‘Typical Bordeaux’ bottle.

I bought this two months ago and so far, no problems. A few remarks...

The box it came in contained foam corner pieces to absorb shock, but they had worked loose from the corners and were free floating when I opened the box. No harm done in my case, though.

To gain access to the attachment points for the handle screws, you have to pull the door insulation strip loose. This didn't feel right, somehow; I googled around a bit first to find someone else who had done it to be sure I wasn't missing something (hey, I wasn't keen on pulling the insulation strip out of my brand new wine cooler). I needn't have worried. It turned out to be easy to put back in. Working enough of the strip loose to gain access takes some firm pulling, but nothing ripped.

I waited 24 hours before plugging the unit in. I notice that it did rattle some, but that turned out to be the empty shelves. Once I loaded some bottles in it, the thing quieted down.

I read a comment about the width being a little off at the bottom. Mine is 15 inches (top and bottom), but it didn't seem to sit straight in the cabinet opening. I attempted numerous adjustments on the adjustable feet but couldn't get it quite right. I finally noticed that the bracket on which the two rear feet are mounted was bent (this may have happened when I raised the rear of the unit up with a block of wood to make adjustments). The bracket is not very thick and bends easily. I pressed it down with my foot and managed to bend it back into position.

The smallest wine bottles fit fine. Slightly wider bottles fit okay once they're in, but you'll have to raise the shelf above them a bit to get the drawer to slide in and out.

Although it is early to really rate this product so far so good. Product was double boxed well. Came with no scratches or dents. Size is consistent throughout build. It was 14. 7/8 inches wide and that is what it was exactly. It went into a 15 inch slot exactly. Product cools quickly and temp is within 2 degrees as per manual. I simply set it at 53 to obtain a temp of 55. As with other coolers, these are designed for a 450 ml bottle or smaller. The litter size will take up more space and you will not get 30 bottles into the unit. If you use 350 ml bottles no problem. Unit noise level is minimal as expected. It replaced a wine enthusiast unit that was defunct in 8 months.
About Wine Coolers.
This is a built in wine cooler with the venting in the front. Any unit with no venting up front is not a built in or under counter regardless of what they say. It would be free standing and will overheat and blow if under the counter. Small wine coolers cannot be dual zoned adequately. There is only one compressor and the difference in temp is regulated by a larger fan in the colder section. It cannot hold a difference in temp with the other compartment being just above it and separated by thin metal.

This unit is compressored, not electronically cooled (heat pump) and so far so good. When the warm weather comes to Arizona then it will have to perform properly so I will see how well it is up to the challenge. So far quite pleased.

Mine holds probably closer to 25 bottles, and that's cramming them in. It just quit with less than 2 years on the clock, and was sitting with over 20 bottles at 80 degrees inside. Hopefully this $600 machine's breakdown hasn't also cost me all the wine that was inside, too. Problem was a bad relay, which is a user-servicable $40 part that's not difficult to replace. If you machine has stopped cooling, and makes a clicking noise, it may be a bad relay.

We had this refrigerator for about a year before it completely stopped cooling. We only kept a few bottles of wine in it at a time and it never held the temp steady. I called to get it fixed and not only did they tell me that it was out of warranty, but they couldn't even tell me who I could call to get it fixed. I wish I would have just paid a bit more for an appliance that had better customer service.

After reading several reviews I purchased this wine cooler...it is quiet and keeps wine at correct temp. I would recommend not plugging in for 24hours after delivery, just in case delivery service has turned on its side during transport.

Mine failed after about three years, stopped cooling. After reading some of the other reviews here it sounds like it was a bad relay. Customer Service was useless. I left voicemails, and email. both went unanswered. When someone finally answered the phone they could not recommend any repair service in the New York/ New Jersey area. I was not looking for warranty repair, I was willing to pay full price. Most appliance repair companies I called won't touch edgestar products. I WILL NEVER BY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I've had mine about 15 months and discovered the compressor died while away on a short trip last week. The Cooler was suddenly rasing the termperature to 76 degrees despite being set at 52. Have [now] read enough about a relay likely having been bad. Seems that was the case all along. I always questioned why it seemed to cycle on and off the entire time we had it. In retrospect, I wish I had researched that issue earlier and replaced the relay. Now with the compressor dead, it is unplugged and will store at room temperature [in the mid 60's].
