Love the sleek look and fact that it is a freezer so no drain needed!! I would have given it 5 stars if it had an interior light. Large ice bin is a plus and it was full in about 36 hours and has no problem keeping up with our family of 7 during the summer. Have had it a couple weeks and I will update the review after a few months.

Update:DIDN'T LAST A YEAR. IT IS COVERED WITH ASSURANT. CANT BE REPAIRED. IT HAS BEEN A BIG HASSLE TO GET IT REPLACED THROUGH THE WARRANTEE. WE ARE STILL DEALING WITH THE AMAZON EXTENDED WARRANTY PEOPLE AND AFTER ALMOST 3 MONTHS THEY STILL WILL NOT REPLACE OR REPAIR THE ICE MAKER!!!

Ordered this icemaker earlier this week. On a positive note, it arrived within two days, much quicker than estimated.

Per the instructions, I left the ice maker sit upright for more than 24 hours before installing it.

This morning I hooked up the water line, leveled the unit, reversed the door and slid it into place beneath the counter in our bar area.

When I turned on the power switch, the unit came on and according to the manual, I would be accumulating ice in a matter of 60 minutes.

Six hours later, no ice and the inside of the freezer is still room temperature.

About three hours ago, I removed the grill and adjusted the temperature to the coldest setting (per instructions in the manual. No effect what-so-ever.

I just requested a return. I was hoping to have a new (functional) ice maker shipped from the seller (Compact Appliance), but that option wasn't available. The only option was to request a refund and send the unit back.

I will update this review once I see how Compact Appliance handles this return.

Does it make ice? Yes. Does it keep new ice cold enough to keep from turning back to water, then a huge ice block/slushy mess. No! I have to dump the contents of the ice every other day to keep it fresh and not a total mess. I have 3 phases of this machine. Makes ice, it then goes to the bottom of the bin, where it melts making the ice above the water start to melt. It will then refreeze and turn into a block and I can scrape 5 cubes off the block where I usually bust my knuckles and bleed into the water/slush/block of ice/ice mix. This ice maker is like the year 2020, would not recommend.

Built-in freezer! No drain line needed, very quiet!

Update: Almost 2 year later and I still love this ice maker! The only maintenance that I perform is that if there are long durations between use, I’ll have to dump the ice and defrost the ice maker, but this is typical with any freezer. I’ll do this if I haven’t been using the ice for a while and I want a bucket of fresh ice the next day. It’ll start making ice right away but it’ll take a days to fill the bucket.

Love this ice maker. This was the only undercounter unit I found that had a built in freezer so that the ice doesn’t melt after it’s made. Door is reversible, which I did, it only took a few minutes to change it around. The unit itself is very quiet.

I installed an inline water filter so that the unit makes ice with filtered water, everywhere I read said that this will extend the life of unit as there won’t be any build up in the internal waterlines. The ice comes out super clear, glad I did this.

At first I was a little annoyed that there wasn’t a built in water filter, but then I realized I preferred that it didn’t have a built in filter because I was able to install my own heavy-duty filter and not rely on a filter only provided by this manufacturer.

It’s an expensive ice maker for sure, but it’s a really well made one. It took about a day to make ice to fill it’s bin, but it so convenient not to worry about drinking ice for my parties now.

I am in love with this ice maker! We have had it sitting in the box for almost 3 weeks while we waited for it to be installed, which finally happened and we have been super happy. It’s noisy for about 4 total seconds when it drops ice and sucks up water to replenish. The lower the amount of ice in the bucket, the more noise it makes when it drops, but we counted and it really does last 4 seconds before it’s over. The bucket filled up quick, and it’s definitely going to be very useful for my house! I’m also super happy that no drain was needed!

If you are worried about getting this ice maker, don’t Worry. It has been great. It was delivered about a week ago. I replaced a Kitchen Aid piece of junk ice maker. This ice maker was very easy to install., It was in great shape when it arrived. The stainless steel looks great. It matches my Thermador appliances well. It is very quiet, especially when compared to my old Kitchen Aid. I also like the fact that it does not need a drain. This is a huge plus in my book. I highly recommend this ice maker. Also a great price.

Update: We have had this ice machine for over a year now and it's still going strong. Only downfall is... when the bin gets full the ice sometimes freezes to the bottom of the ice maker.. it's an easy fix, just scoop loose ice out and thaw the rest. We love it.

This ice machine was very easy to install and makes a ton of ice. We were totally sold on the fact that there was no drain line needed. We split a water line off of the refrigerator and attached it the the macine. We were up and running in less than 10 minutes

The ice maker itself is fine. It did seem to build up ice on the walls pretty quickly; about a week. However, we paid 150 extra for the stainless finish. It is such poor quality (warped and dull), it doesn’t match our other appliances. It stands out as cheap looking. Tried to exchange but they want me to pay for shipping for this defective product. We do not recommend stainless.
